That was released last friday, but they only put it on the podcast yesterday. Remember Rolando 2? it was released on the 2nd of July, just after the last info was released... kinda. I'm assuming they'll do the same thing with Eliminate.
Eliminate officially coming in October 2009, I was so curious about the thing that says "Final System Check" on their website that I just had to hover my mouse over it... Says "October 2009"
Yup! If you right-click the Final System Check image then select Properties, it says October 2009 - Prepare for Launch Try it!
The NGMOFOS have their part two episode and explain a little more about the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhiOzMQKtSs CLICK ON LINK!!!
I agree with the tax thing, but the name. I don't think matters too much. It reminds me of the Wii - Revolution name change. People were laughing at it at the start but. meh. Obviously it's not as serious being that it's an ipod/iphone game.
I'm going to hold out for nova. I don't like the whole idea of in app purchasing for power cells so that you can continue to play and actually earn credits. This essentially means whoever is willing to spend the most time and money will top the leaderboards. I think that is a pretty crappy way for a company to try and make money. I have never seen such a stupid idea implemented in a game before. I think if I pay for the game in the first place then I should be able to play whenever I want. Now I'm not flaming this game for no reason, I just really dont agree with that system. I for one hope nova comes out around the same time and kills this game, yes I would like this game to tank.
I think the reason they thought this would work is that they thought they would have the premiere multiplayer FPS in the Appstore by default, and everyone would flock to it automatically like Halo or Call of Duty, and they'd make money regardless. I could actually see it working for a couple weeks, then everyone will stop cause it's stupid to do such a thing for a mobile game when they wouldn't tolerate it on home systems or any other platform. And if Nova (from the current Appstore darling Gameloft) takes off around the same time give or take a few weeks and actually excels, say goodbye to this pricing model for good.
