I DON'T KNOW. lol. Just take the time. It's worth it. On the other hand, I plan on giving my Battleworn some Void and the coolest looking Vanity armour ever
Do Rings and Vanity Armour open extra charm-slots? Do Rings and Vanity Armour get you the option to update for more charm slots? Do they appear in your inventory like other gear? Six more slots would become tempting if you could get them for the price of the cheapest armour and ring. And if anybody else has had success getting the glitch to buy rings and or the armour skins, let us know. It didn't work for me. I would say the game is still challenging even with the glitch. At least since I didn't learn about it until half way through. Before that I had to do an awful lot of running around in circles to wait for my health to go up. Tedious. It really makes the game more playable I'd say. Now the challenge is charm slots, since I'm trying to keep building big charms, but also take up slots to combine level one charms to work the glitch. I'm juggling two streams of charm manufacturing, and space is tight! So the glitch hasn't taken the challenge away.
The Charm/Gear Upgrade Glitch: a historical summary Funny how these things develop here. The charm-merge / pick-any-gear "glitch" (easter-egg? bug?) seems to have been raised in this forum in message #725 by blackbear219 at 04-16-2013, 07:37 PM. Only later did it pick up steam as more people figured out how it worked. It is discussed again in Messages 771, and 779, people were working it out. Message 791-795 it gets discussed with some clarity. 821-830, calls it the "merge glitch," works for armour and weapons in the shop (or on your "inventory" buy-me items) or in the crafting screen! But not with rings. Message 851, 04-18-2013, 07:30 PM Sambobsung summarized the glitch process nicely [with a few edits by me]: Note, later it was stated that you have to only have the one merge going at a time. When I tried it while having another longer merge/upgrade running, it crashed the game, and when I restarted I didn't get the glitch-loot I wanted, but was left with the normally expected level 2 charm. Raindog1 in message 857 says it works for vanity armour too. In 861 began a discussion of the ethics of getting free gear in a game that tries to hard to get you to pay as you go for the gear you need to play the game. Back and forth on that. Message 917 discusses how the special "sale" weapons often have huge gems attached, which you can then transfer if you want to wait hours to do so. And so on... Interesting progression. I've enjoyed this process as part of the game. I honestly hope they don't "fix" it. It may act in their favour as a pressure-release for people upset about the paywalls. If hard-core haters are quieted down by this, then others will probably never hear about it and keep shovelling money into the game.
What a great summary. The glitch doesn't work on potions or rings as it has no physical change in appearance as equipment does. Something around those lines.
The good point is to merge two "level 1" charms. It seems that any other level charms have some failure rate. But level 1 charms never failed me.
Anyone have issues with your character not being able to be detected by NPCs(friend or foe)? Plus my blade master not showing proper armor set, and health pots are at 3 and unlimited, but I can't play because not npcs register me. Used merge cheat.
Actually the highest level or weapons and armors is tier 97, and for ring is tier 99. LOLZ you need to have a level 80 character to unlock them.
Agree - epic post from Accordion Noir! Bagsied the timed weapon that Gork offered in the ancient ruins level - add to that all the other weapons/gear uses, prob worth in excess of £20 so far. Anyone tried it on the actual gem packages? Waiting to get some level 1 charms then will give it a go. Would be interesting (if it works) to rinse the gold wheel of fate over and over, or be able to merge high level charms without having to wait 5+ hours!!! I love GameLoft.
