I'm quite anxious too, it's the fact there was no gradual build up, no beta screens, no background. Just 'wham, here you go, it's in for apple review'. You think with the unreal engine they'd be shouting from the rooftops, especially as this game is from a one man army.
check again..the normal iphone version is gone but the ipad version is still there "DreamSapce HD"...maybe they removed the normal iphone app as the ipad one contains HD ...hmm just a hunch
The fact it's a one man effort makes it less likely that there's going to be a big build up to a game in my opinion. It tends to be the big developers that can afford to promote their games in advance. I also noticed that the 'dreamscape' app has disappeared - perhaps for a name change so that the two apps are not too similar?
Me too. Patience has never been my strong point. Cannot wait as this looks amazing. I just hope it doesn't disappoint
Ok, so that sounds a little odd to me. Many people, including me, could play a good game for 2 hours straight. If there is really only 2 hours of gameplay, I'm already disappointed, or maybe there is more to it.
It depends how good that two hours is! The developer claims that the game is one to be 'savoured...replayed like a favourite book'. I'd rather have two hours of moving, immersive and memorable play than 8 hours of repetition & monotony. I'm hoping this game will live up to it's claims and be a wonderful and unique experience, and if that experience is two hours then I'm quite happy with that...
Thanks Mestour. Really whetting my appetite now. If it is Myst like then it will take me a lot longer than two hours
Nice to see the game in action - looks fantastic. Only slight concern is the framerate - not sure if it is just the video but the game seems to stutter a bit when you see it moving. May just be the YouTube video though...
Noticed that too, there are clearly framerate issues in the video. Only thing that bothers me is if it really is like Myst, possibly my all-time most hated game ever
That is true, if it is an amazing 2 hours, then I guess I would be fine with that. I also noticed the framerate. Do you think he might be using some jailbreak app that allows you to record the screen without a camera, like a screenshot? If he is, I know that those apps will make a game lag. I'm really excited for this game!
I may be wrong, but I think if you don't like Myst (or it's sequel Riven) then you're not going to like this. Looks like it's more about atmosphere and working out things from clues than action & obvious enemies. Which is all good as far as I'm concerned!
Can't go by screen emulation -- the framerate is usually much better on the device itself. My guess is that it will run like Epic Citadel (30+ FPS on my iPhone 4).
There is a slight framerate issue with this game. It doesn't run as smoothly as Epic Citadel on my iPhone 4.
Oh that was actually captured on the device? Well I can certainly attest to the fact that recording kills framerate
