Well, IMHO they have pretty horrible movement controls as well as bad voice-acting, but since I only buy their games during sales, I am quite OK with them. I did enjoy Hero of Sparta and Dungeon Hunter much more than I thought I would.
I wish they had stuck more to the original mechanics with the Oregon Trail, though.

Gameloft have definitely helped revolutionize iPhone gaming. Modern Combat 2 and N.O.V.A. have proven how good the iPhone is at FPSs - especially online multiplayer. Eliminate didn't really cut it for me.

i do like how they bring good games and competition to the appstore.....and the competition between high end developers means that the user will get a better experience

as for their lack of original ideas....it is true that they copy game ideas. however it is a fact that if they did not copy the games, there would be none like it on the appstore

I personally like Gameloft games. I tend to wait for their sales so seems great value to me. Yeah they do copy other games but nobody is forced to buy them.

No. Their games are repetitive and boring. Their games are unnecessarily huge in size. Their marketing team is terrible. They don't have content updates. Might have missed some points...

Voted No. Shallow games with no replay value and if i wanted console games i would play on a console.
They are not revolutionazing the iOS gaming, they making it step back, instead of finding genres of its own, iOS gaming will now try to imitate console gaming, when it should be all about innovation.
Also, they give no continued support, and are graphic whores.

Why you revive this topic if so why?
This record is so broken. I don't know why anyone would even bother anymore.

My problem with Gameloft games is that they consistently draw me in to want to play for more than a half hour. I have bought 4-5 of the recent titles and never end up playing them for more than a couple of times. The finish of the games is traditionally pretty good but it just seems like they all lack any character.

Gameloft hate cracks me up. They rip off games, who cares? They bring us games that their official counterparts simply do not (and most definitely WILL NOT) bring over. God of War on the iPhone? Never going to happen. Guess I'll settle for Hero of Sparta. Mordern Warfare 2? Probably never going to happen. I'll settle for Modern Combat 2. Uncharted? never going to happen. I'll settle with Shadow Guardian. Final Fantasy XIII on the iPhone? Probably never going to happen and while I do get my pick from Final Fantasy 1 & 2 and Chaos Rings from the master developer, I can equally go with Eternal Legacy and have just as much fun with a great looking experience. Halo on the iPhone? Not going to happen. I'll settle with N.O.V.A. You get catch my drift. Is this right? Debatable but they are doing well off of it, and I have purchased a number of these games already myself. The games they put out are fun, and the controls are always well implimented and customizable. They just work well. I wish they would come out with something more original, but like I said, I am not complaining. But I understand the hate for them, I just don't have it myself.

Well a lot of Gameloft haters from the past threads turned out to be indie devs themselves so it's more like a competitor hatred/ jealousy for most of them.

Well I would much f*cking rather play the real counterparts too on my 360 or PS3 but I am not always around them lol. If I could put my 360 in my pocket and take it everywhere I go so that I can play it on the go then I would. These are mobile games. They aren't meant to be as grand (as close as some of them are getting) as their Console Counterparts.

I really couldn't care less that they copy other games, in fact I'm pleased that they shamelessly copy other games. As booch said, nobody else is going to be making these big console games for iOS.

So we're lucky that Gameloft isn't innovative and original otherwise we wouldn't be playing their awesome games which are inspired by big console games.

Their games are horrible, unoriginal rip offs of games done by good developers for the home consoles and PC. I don't like to play them because they're so unoriginal they have poor stories and a universe I can't get engrossed in. Then you have how their graphics engines are so poor with a lack of physics. They have poor animations, bad voice acting and they never update their games to make them better. Instead they just make a second one or another clone of something else.

That said I like how they've shown proper developers that these games are possible on the iPhone. So I'm just waiting for something good from one of the major developers.

Funny thing is so far we've had games like Infinity Blade and Rage which are both on rails and so boring to play. Like surely if Gameloft can do full control games like Nova 2 then Id and Epic can do their games so I have full control too.

I dislike gameloft very much they make profits off of others ideas and original games. And then when they get a chance to make a mobile port it's shit. But it's not when it's based off another game. Maybe if gameloft was even original with their names: starcraft-starFront, modern warfare-modern combat. I mean come on!!!

    Souls

I am sure their souls will be tortured forever soon

There is more to reality than people think
In fact nothing is really real;)

IT seems real but its just atoms and consciousness

Sure someone can make a game on that
And Gameloft will of course rip it off

I lol'd. You have some real contempt towards these people. For what reason I don't know. Why is everyone saying that Gameloft only makes these games for profit? No shit they make them for profit. What does any game developer make games for? Profit. If you think they lack soul or for whatever other reason you don't like them then don't buy them. Simple as that.

    Argue

    This is not the argument

THe argument is ripping off games
Yes you mix and mash mechanics all the time but well read the argument again and I am just agreeing with others go target them too.

How would you like it if Gameloft ripped YOUR game off?
You would soon change your Itune

  20. First, I'd consider it a compliment that my idea was worthy of imitation. Second, companies have been ripping off other companies since time immemorial. 99.9% of games released these days are based on ideas that came before it. Where's all the hate for devs that made yet another Tetris clone, or another Bejeweled clone, or another Bust-a-Move clone, or another Super Mario clone, or another...? Seriously, Gameloft are doing the same thing damn near every other developer has been doing for decades. N.O.V.A. was a ripoff of Halo? So what? Halo was hardly original either.

It's hard to take an opinion like yours seriously when it's selectively applied.
