Can't help myself but i have really no deep feelings for jailbreaker.First of all:legal or not you are using an unauthorized OS.How can you blame the developer for not supporting it?Something feels wrong here. Second:i'm doing mainly music on my ipad and have a shitload of music apps (besides a lot of games)and whenever people report to have problems with certain apps (quite often)in the music forums, they are REALLY fast with blaming the developer first. And start to flame thru the appstore and spread 1 star ratings before the dev even got the chance to react.Developer is scratching his head (wasting time he could use on different things)and at the end it turned out that most of this user running JBs on their device. "Ah,really?Running certain music apps at once is a high performance task and my JB can interrupt with that?Oops" Sure,it's a minority but i read it so damn often and i'm just sick of it...and of course what i said fits to iOS gaming as well. And as you can see,i'm not even talking about piracy (sure, everybody bought all their apps.Ever)! I really can't blame SE for what they did now, sorry. But not to mention it in the app store description is a"no go",i agree on that one! Maybe some people (with JB devices)should have a little more patience the next time.I still didn't bought Deus Ex,although i'm a big fan of this franchise.I still have a lot of other games to play first,no need to hurry.Relaxed reading all the feedback first. The game will be there tomorow as well.Sometimes it seems people are more collecting instead of really playing all the games (the same goes for the music apps, most people are just buying everything cause its so"cheap"). With the release of iOS 7 there will be no real excuse to run JB's (with LEGAL software) anymore IMO.
I'm sure this looks great on the iPhone and plays ok but I refuse to buy this cause it has to be played on an actual console to enjoy the full experience. It's like playing black ops 2 on the iPhone the experience would be rubbish compared to the PS3
Well for that you can see modern combat 5 or whatever they're up to now. But honestly, if you play Deus Ex as it was meant to be played (mix of stealth and exploration, not all guns-blazing) it's not too bad. I also found a full out aggro playthrough difficult in the console version, less because of the controls and more because the AI is great. Honestly though the AI isn't terrible in the fall, its just that the controls, as well as some of the hit boxes and things with weapons and firing out of cover are difficult to manage. Hopefully these are things that can be tweaked and fixed via an update. I don't blame you for not wanting to tarnish happy memories of a great game, but honestly I don't think the Fall will do that. It's pretty faithful, and is the closest I've seen a full-blown non-turn-based (sorry XCOM) game be adapted to fit on a tablet.
I've jailbroken every device I've ever owned, whether it be an iPhone or my Touch Pro. Jailbreaking your device and adding a few tweaks DOES NOT I repeat DOES NOT reduce performance in any perceptible way. Now if you're adding in Winterboard and a ream of high intensity tweaks, that's another story. Unless you are running current gen hardware, expect there to be battery issues. But as far as it starting to become more prominent, no. It hasn't, and it has been simple for developers to check for these things. Skype is a perfect example of that, it has thrown out a useless error message if you're running a jailbroken device for years and years. The list of apps that allow this are few and far between, and it rarely invades high end apps. And as for the voiding of the warranty, that is just typical FUD BS. If your phone works, all you have to do is reset all settings. If it DOESN'T work, then there's no way to show if it's jailbroken or not. I've also heard many stories of people bringing their jailbroken devices in for service and have had no issues. And if this has happened and you are jailbroken and can't get it working with Xcon, I don't think anyone will belie you for simply telling Apple that it crashes uncontrollably. But no matter, it seems like Xcon works just fine, but in case it stops, I think it is more than fair to speak your piece here. I'm struggling to discern whether you realize that gif, and that scene in particular, is ironic clapping, he's basically applauding his wife's crappy portrayal on stage, over compensating for the failure of everything else in his life. Why the crap are you two not in the Movies thread? I have to contend with 90% of the populace talking about nothing more than brainless mainstream releases! I actually own 2 copies of The Third man on blu-ray. The now out of print (and VERY VERY EXPENSIVE) criterion edition as well as a slightly lower PQ Studiocanal edition because the SC edition has additional features not found on the Criterion film. I need to PM you guys about the short film that Vincent D'Onofrio did which is a partially fictional portrayal of Welles leading up to his scene about the cuckoo clocks. He was becoming impossible to work with at the time and was always drunk out of his mind. This isn't an issue of us running a non supported OS, this is a developer trying some crap DRM that punishes not JUST those that pirate, but also punish those of us who have jailbroken our devices LEGALLY. Don't support those who have problems with the app crashing because of the jailbbreak, fine, but it's stupid of a developer to try and put this sort of check, as it's easily bypassed by anyone who really tries, and will ensure that those who aren't savvy enough will cease to buy anything else from the developer. In the end, how does this help them? Say a person is pirating the game, they can't even delete their pirated version and buy it, they'd still get this message. And the there are those of us who are jailbroken who buy our tweaks and our games, are we supposed to remove a jailbbreak to play ONE GAME? It's daffy and it is thoughtlessly reactive and for a savvy user, nothing more than an annoyance. So that's that. Easy solution, search for Xcon in the Cydia store, install it and play the game. My suggestion is for EVERYONE that cares about this to barrage the devs and let them know what they're doing is daft.
I have a question for those later in the game. Spoiler In one of the later levels where you escape with Alexa, you are on the hotel roof and there is a giant robot. (I think they called it like a box giant or something.) I used stealth and ran to the location marker (highlighted thing that says x meters away), however when I did this nothing happened. Are you supposed to destroy the robot, and if so, how?
How do you kill/hack the robot? I don't know how to hack it, and I put about 100 rounds from the assault rifle into it and it still didn't die.
Obvious troll is obvious. Game is great. Controls taking me time to get used to keep hitting the wrong buttons in the heat of retreat. Still loving it.
Well...I'm sure you remember the camera requirement that blocked people from playing some Squeenix iphone games on an ipad.
I had previously EMP'ed it, however it was only stunned for a few seconds and then it shortly recovered.
I simply hacked it and it killed everyone, then the evac landed, so I disabled it and then killed it to get the xp.
Sorry for all the questions, but how did you hack/disable/kill it? EDIT: Nevermind, I just wasnt shooting it enough.
No problem, we're part of a community here to help each other. There's a computer terminal behind it, but you must have the skill that allows youto hack turrets and bots. You can access it undetected by going to the right when you enter the level and jumping over the railing.
A little easteregg I found : http://i.imgur.com/7ma5SVtl.jpg Anyway I just finished the game, look forward to playing it again in MG+. I hope Square Enix adds DLC so we can further the storyline.
