I can understand why they are doing IAP. It's a small team, they want a larger market , and some findncisl returns for their work. As long as it doesn't become crazy, I won't mind.
Here is more news about update 1.2 for iOS and Android. Part 2/4. This one contains information about the new mods that will be a part of the update. A new game mod called Biohazard has been added. It has a few new maps and is based on ‘waves of enemies’ style of gameplay. Every new wave is going to be larger, more aggressive and more dangerous than the last one. The mod will contain: • The option to restock on ammo between waves • A mini-boss that will appear every x-th wave (the actual number of waves is not decided yet) • Every mini-boss will have some unique ability • A mini-boss with a chainsaw has been added • A mini-boss with a minigun has been added • Every mini-boss has a chance to drop some special loot • The last boss is Wagner with brand new attacks • New achievements • New leaderboards We have also added a mod called Daily Mission into the game. It has five new levels and new game objectives. This makes it a sort of mix between singleplayer and other mods, so we hope that those who liked the singleplayer will enjoy it. • It offers a few new objectives: - Defend your position - Find and destroy - Activate terminals - Find numeric codes • The levels are scaled from short to ultra long, the same thing goes for difficulty • Players who successfully finish a Daily Mission will be awarded with Golden Bars (the number obtained depends on the length and difficulty of the mission) • New achievements • New mini-bosses New levels have been added to the Survive mod, where the player will defending against waves of zombies. We are going to say a little more about new weapons in the next part.
I really would like to see the shop/upgrade screen changes, and these new improvements will make this game a top pick for iOS FPS gaming.
Wow! So basically is there any way that Dead Effect can be dumbed down anymore more, in terms of graphics, for the iPhone 4? I know the game was recently optimized, but it still runs at fairly low fps, especially when a lot is going on on the screen. This game is becoming the ideal fps for ios and I want to play it the right way. Thanks!
To the dev: Thank you for making such an excellent game. I've had a really hard time getting into FPS games on iOS, but this one grabbed me and kept me. You've got a fan in me. Lets get a sequel or new IP going! I'm ready to buy the second one hits the marketplace.
Here’s the third part of the Dead Effect update 1.2 release notes. This part covers the changes and additions made to the weapon arsenal. We’ve added a new weapon slot – the Explosives slot, which will allow players to carry one of the three available highly dangerous combustible toys. This means that players can expect good times with weapons and, of course, lots of explosions and mayhem. Available weapons: • Explosive grenade (explodes on impact and makes a huge mess) • Electric grenade (explodes a little after impact, approximately 3 seconds. It’s better to stand back and avoid the massive damage) • Trip mine with a laser sensor (whatever comes in contact with the laser will also trigger the mine. Those of you who played Half-Life or Duke Nukem will know exactly what we’re talking about) Some new and unique weapons have been added. Usually those that our players asked for the most, so be ready for some real fun. • Crossbow with explosive ammunition (the head explodes a few seconds after impact) • Chainsaw * (a little Christmas present for all those who like to see a nice bloody massacre. And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, well, you can still enjoy the Chainsaw!) • Predator Minigun (we present this ‘little guy’ for all those who like it big. Hasta la vista, baby.) It didn’t win, but we’ve decided to add it into the game, because there was a large demand for it. The weapon that won the contest will be added too but, sadly, we won’t be able to make it in 1.2 because the update itself required a lot more work than we initially anticipated. This left us no time to model and implement the Emre Plasm X-7. But it will definitely be a part of the next planned update, so no worries!
