This game is AMAZING on the 360, where it's been out for a few years now, and is one of only a couple worthwhile things in XBL Indie Games. Time to download immediately. Or more standard dungeon crawler? Edit: just saw the "only one life" in the description so roguelike it is. Duke12 Well-Known Member Oct 25, 2013 1,021 43 48 #7 Duke12, Mar 18, 2016 I like it but classes seem kinda pointless cos it only determines the skill you start with. Otherwise skills are the same. Correct me if Im wrong Repulsa Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2015 1,584 81 48 #8 Repulsa, Mar 18, 2016 I think you are right .. I have only been playing with the goblin but it seems like you can level up and put points into ANY skills and that's great. Basically classes just determines what you look like and you do have a boost to their starting skill. db2 Well-Known Member Oct 13, 2011 157 2 18 Michigan, USA #9 db2, Mar 18, 2016 It's been a while since I played it heavily, but I recall the class-specific skills will gain points faster if you invest in them. I forget exactly how it goes. It looks like it could be right up my (goblin infested, loot ridden, trap laden dungeon) alley and although I own an iPad, this is the kind of game I want on my phone so it's in my pocket ready for all those boring moments in my life.....of which there are many. :sigh: # Edit: Could someone give some more set iled mpressions and/or perhaps a short video please? Thanks pixeldunce Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2016 45 0 0 #11 pixeldunce, Mar 18, 2016 It's free, just try it yourself TrencH Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Mar 29, 2013 284 2 18 #12 TrencH, Mar 18, 2016 Exactly! This game would have far more ppl playing on the phone and I don't see why it would only handle an iPad. I will have to wait to see if they put it on the rest on the devices. gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #13 gmattergames, Mar 18, 2016 Game is actually pretty decent. Controls are a bit slippery, but otherwise feels a lot like Pixel Dungeon. Played through the free bit where it just starts getting challenging. If I didn't have a few others grabbing my attention I'd buy. May come back to this one. Hoodin Well-Known Member Jan 29, 2016 54 7 8 #14 Hoodin, Mar 18, 2016 He can't... Duke12 Well-Known Member Oct 25, 2013 1,021 43 48 #15 Duke12, Mar 18, 2016 Then again whats the use for imps if you cant download it..... eyehookgames Member Mar 17, 2016 21 0 0 http://www.eyehookgames.com #16 eyehookgames, Mar 18, 2016 Hey, Thanks for the responses! I'll try to answer in order: * It is an action (not turn based) roguelike. In easy mode, you can revive once, but then you are dead. * Classes determine your primary skill. Your primary skill increases in level twice as fast as all other skills. * To be honest, I never really considered iPhone as a viable platform. With the HUD and on-screen buttons, I felt it would be way too cramped, but, I bet I could figure out a one touch scheme (also, I'm on an old iPhone 5, so I haven't luxuriated in all those extra pixels). But, I also really wanted to retain the feel of the original in at least it's first release. * Here's a totally raw video of me playing Cursed Loot (I had to turn off shadows to make it record decently, but if you are just looking for a feel of what it's like... um, enjoy!) I know I need to add explosions and exclamation points to it and stuff. * I'm a fan of the touch controls, but I've also played it 10,000 times in testing. It already has a smart movement system in place (so if you are heading NE and hit an E wall, you will then start moving N), and it will also intelligently attack nearby enemies, etc., but there is always room for improvement! It is alway tricky trying to anticipate the player's intention (you don't want the game to play itself... which it can... heheh), but I will definitely give it a go. (Actually I want to go on and on about this, but, I suspect most would be bored.) Thanks again. Couldn't figure out if it's expecting swipe movement, or doing some kind of invisible floating stick. A visual indication might help, though I'm the type that just prefers a fixed virtual stick/d-pad. I will say that it plays beautifully with an MFi controller, and easily holds up to the 360 version. I miss being able to zoom out the view like on the 360, but the overview map is a pretty good substitute. And I noticed that the collision detection in the bonus stage has been loosened up a little bit, thankfully. I've taken way too many dives on the 360 getting greedy with coins right at the edges of platforms. eyehookgames Member Mar 17, 2016 21 0 0 http://www.eyehookgames.com #19 eyehookgames, Mar 18, 2016 Good point. I'll add the option for a virtual d-pad in the next release. Easy enough. The touch controls are a bit of a frankenstein hybrid of a dpad and swipe. Basically, if you don't lift your finger and the end of a swipe, that point becomes the new "center" of the dpad. So, you can swipe east, then west, without having to lift your finger. I generally just swipe in one direction, and then start a new swipe to change direction. I'll look into tightening it up a bit. ZS77 Well-Known Member May 8, 2015 566 2 18 #20 ZS77, Mar 18, 2016 To be fair, I can download it - just a) too lazy to go and get my iPad and b) finding I use my 6S a lot more these days so would love to have this in a more portable format.
