    Hey guys,

Sorry for the late reply, been really busy over here.

    Dazarath-

Good Question. We are trying hard to designt "MYOCEAN" to be fun and NOT be a chore. As part of that focus we decided not to have your fish die from neglect. You can play on YOUR time. Play now and then and it's fine, of course fish will grow more slowly etc... Or if you are a fanatic you can play all the time. Just depends on the time you have.

Also you can adjust the messages you get, how many and the frequency so you don't feel harassed by the game. :) I know some games flood you with push notifications and it feels like work. We give you options about when and for what reasons you might get push notifications.

    Ddyracer123-

Hi, as of now the game isn't supported with banner ads but we are still debating what we will do as we want to provide a fun game experience for everyone, paying and non paying, but we also want to make money and if we make money we can keep adding to the game and making new games. :) It's a tough market. What do you guys think about ads? I mean it's a way for game companies to add some income and if players want to avoid ads they can pay a little money to play the game ad free. Give me some feedback and opinions.

    andrade_horhe-

Yep, you are right we made the video on the PC, since all the development, design and animation work is, as you know, initially done on the PC (or Mac).

Thanks guys, I appreciate any and all feedback, opinions and questions.

Well, there probably should be ads in the free version. For DLC should be ad free.

Obviously, nobody here is going to say they want ads, but the decision is up to you guys, the devs. If the extra income is worth the inconvenience to your customers, then go for it. Sorry, I don't mean to make it sound so negative but I wasn't sure how else to word it. I completely understand the need for income, so I won't fault devs for putting ads in a free game. The only thing is, if I spend a single cent on a game (freemium or regular), I except not to see ads. Showing ads is not a way to treat paying customers. If I'm only playing for free, then I'll tolerate them, of course.

So in short, if you decide to go the ad route, please have them auto-removed with the purchase of any IAP, no matter how big or small.

Dazarath, Haha, I liked your response and that was exactly the feed back I was looking for. Yeah, no one likes banner ads and I understand where you are coming from.

Personally I don't really like them either, but just like you said, I'm willing to put up with them to use certain apps for free. You hit the nail on the head. IF we put in banner ads they will only show up for non paying players. IF you pay then the banner ads disappear (not sure if it will be for any in app purchase (IAP) or you would have to reach a certain amount of purchases before the ads turn off. I hear you on wanting it to be for any purchase amount but I just can't say at this point.).

Ddyracer123, I think I answer your question in the points below. :)

Anyway here is a break down of a few points about the game:

*MY OCEAN will be a Freemium game. (So we are not planning to have Downloadable content (DLC). Just regular game updates for everyone.
*Everyone plays the same game, there is only one game version.
*Everyone can have hundreds of sea creatures and work up to HUGE tanks and their own OCEAN which they can decorate.
*Paying customers have the option to pay to unlock certain unique creatures and most of the HUGE creatures. Plus there will be certain items that can speed up growth of sea creatures and the chance to unlock the next fish or animal in that species category.
*Free players can also earn some of the special items, just a lot more slowly. Paying will give you options and extras FASTER and unlock a greater variety of sea creatures and decorations.
    * FUN FUN FUN We want the game to be fun and addictive for EVERYONE regardless of whether you pay or not so we are and will constantly try to keep it balances and welcome feedback.
    * UPDATES We will be making TONS of updates with more fish sea creatures and so on.

Lastly we are not 100% sure that we will use banner ads, it's still up for debate in the office. We also have some new developments for our business and might push back our release date to May. BUT this would mean the game would have even more features and be even more polished.

I'll be able to give more details in the next week or so.

DLC=Freemium. Sometimes I use this as an alternate name for Freemium. Fair leveling up system.

    Ddyracer123,
Ah I see what you mean. Though I usually think of DLC as extra content you can download (for a price) from the internet for previously purchased PC and Console games. I think it is a bit different from Freemium games. But at the same time I get your meaning and understand since in Freemium you pay to unlock certain features/items that already exist in the game.

I'm so late at this but whatever, I agree with your idea to make this a freemium game since game like this usually attract casual gamers.

Looks alright! It's always good to have a game that doesn't occupy too much time.

    Big News on the Horizon

    Hi guys,
Sorry I'm late with a reply, it's been really busy on this end.
Yeah we are really trying to make a game that will appeal to both casual gamers and hardcore aquarium and fish fanatics.

As for the release date I have to be a little coy...right now we are working on some things that could lead to a delay in our release date but would mean an even more awesome game filled with even more features. I can't give any final answers since I really don't know the details yet (it's above my pay grade haha).

Anyway I will update more about the potential changes as I know more.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

    Hello Guys and Gals,

So it is official, My Ocean will not be released this month.

    What happened:

After we released our videos and game information we attracted the interest of a very large company that is interested in publishing our game.

We are in the process of negotiating details, so at this stage My Ocean will not be released this month. If we work out a deal with this company then the game will be even larger and more detailed than we had planned and we would be running a world wide beta test if that were the case. (Previously we were not planning a Beta Test).

At any rate our team is still working very very hard on the game and in the next week or two I will have more details about our game developments (even more features) and a possible new release date.

Thanks for the great comments and continued interest. :)
    We really appreciate it.

Also if there is a need for beta testers please feel free to sign me up! I would be glad to help, I also have a few other apps under my belt (so to speak)!

Also Congrats! I have been looming around the thread and then finals came so I finally replied.

    Hi Guys,

    Sorry for the late response.

We are still currently in negotiations with that "large" and well known company.

    Rough Release Date:
So I have to say that depending on if they decided to publish My Ocean or not our release date will range from roughly mid July to Mid September. I will know more in the next few weeks. But we are GREATLY expanding the game over what we had originally planned. All the graphics are being improved to HD and we are adding tons of new elements to the game.

    Yes to Possible Beta Testing:
As for Beta testing, we originally hadn't planned to run a beta, but now it looks like we may do a worldwide Beta Test. I will post more details on how to apply to be a beta tester IF and WHEN the time comes.
Don't worry, I will let you know more as I know more.

I would like to help test it! :) I know that I have a 2nd gen iPod and that I might experience laggy gameplay, but still, I'd love to help out. :)

    Beta Test

    Hi Crex,

Well I'd be willing to let you try when we start the beta, but I've gotta be honest. We are upgrading the whole game to HD graphics and adding tons of content, not the mention our attempt to create very realistic animations... By the time we are done it might tax your system even more than it would now. It WILL be laggy. But if you don't mind lag... :) I suggest a rich girlfriend with a love for gadgets. :D
