5 Steps in this game is a very long distance, more than enough for you to run away from melee mobs or even run circles around them. You need to CC (Crowd Control) them (Freeze, Stun, Slow, Immobilize, Confuse, Terrify) and grab aggro with your tanks. Mages' Golem naturally is very good at stealing aggro. Unfortunately I can't comment much on the Hunters, though I could imagine it can get quite difficult when you are lacking a tank early game. But it really shouldn't be much of a problem. Oh and I just happened to finished the first phase of the game at around level 45. Honestly I can't help but feel that the translation has been rushed towards the end. The good news is that, unlike Gamevil or traditional Korean RPGs, the game has an alternative storyline mode for you to continue with all your acquired characters and gear, but the difficulty curve also significantly spikes up at this point. It is worth knowing that you'd be visiting new dungeons and not going through the same story twice. And for whoever that asked, here's the story characters you obtain throughout the game. Ameli = Priest Kuntu = Barbarian Lydia = Priest Candance = Rogue Ada = Mage Juan = Archer Haldeit = Templar *And there's a limited Dark Elf guest character whose a Rogue. Like the previous game, you can also obtain Warrior Seals as drops which let you recruit permanent Mercenary bonus characters. They all actually have real portraits and fully drawn sprites with equipment. Unlike the previous game, you actually have more than enough room to store your characters this time around.
Chaos Composition Recipe met a suspicious rat asking for "Chaos Composition Recipe" requires - Transcendence Flower - Mana Crystal where to get those items? thx
Random drops as far as I know. I got the Transcendence Flower from killing monsters in the cave(s) on the way to the Dragon. The Mana crystal I honestly dont remember but I know it was a random drop as well.
Screenshot contest! Post Inotia 3: Children of Carnia screenshots here for a chance to win $10 iTunes (or Amazon.com) giftcard. The most interesting image will be selected and awarded by this week!
That's a very strange contest, what are you guys looking for though, it seems very vague with no requirements. I mean, can we just take screenshots of the UI ... haha.
As mentioned the best screenshot will be awarded. Sorry for being unclear- we'll put it as the most interesting screenshot.
Are there bags with more than 8 slots? i think i'm pretty deep in the game and so far i can't find any. Also dices are they worthwhile to use? "randomizing your stats" sounds scary... Loving this game soo far. Has to be the best RPG to date - a little on the easy side tho.
I found the recipe for 12 slot bags, dropped by something before the final battles in the first story phase.
don't worry, if you don't like the rolling stats, you don't need to "Apply" it, after you cancel you still used your dice tho. it is worth to use, my main upgrade to better stats at least twice... but the success rate are low, like 1/30
Yeah, and I am actually surprised how they turned an incredibly annoying feature of the old game into a nice welcome feature in this one. No matter how you look at it this is a lot better than manually allocating stat points (in most cases people would simply stack them over one or two stats).
Ok after playing through the game once, these are my impressions so far: Pros: - Graphics are subpar at first but you get used to them after a while I guess, at least there won't be any lag problems - Characters do change appearance depending on what they wear, definite plus - Background music is very nice for a KRPG, however it does fade out/disappear completely at times which I believe is an unintentional bug - Fluent English translations - Relatively ok story (comparison to other iDevice RPGs), nothing award-winning, still the cliched evil-destroyer-of-doom-9000-taking-over-the-world-and-it's-up-to-a-bunch-of-kids-to-save-it storyline, still incomparable to most console RPG stories, but a few cute parts - No annoying randomized stats Cons: - Very buggy sound effects and music; allies basically have no sound effects whatsoever when they attack, the only sound effect comes from your own character; sound effects disappear randomly; background music disappears randomly - Game resets (losing all progress) if a phone call comes in; keep in mind we're using iPhones here com2us - Crafting is basically completely useless, you can never find the right ingredients or sufficient amount of ingredients for anything; the only crafting I did was for the quest that made you do crafting; the ingredients for a small bag is ridiculously hard to assemble (and probably the raw ingredients are worth more) that it's much easier to just buy one from the store, which is ridiculous - Warrior emblems are next to useless: if you always have 1+ allies with you in the storyline, what's the point of these warrior emblem mercenaries? These mercenaries are the same level as the storyline allies, comes with no equipment, and always has fewer unlocked skills. The only use I found for them so far is to make them carry extra equipment around - Awakening emblems are next to useless: what's the point of these if 75%+ of the time they fail to unlock?? They're not exactly that common, I only found 12 in total in the entire playthrough, and around 8 of those failed when I used them. I'm almost certain that com2us will make people buy "100% work awakening emblems" or something in their IAP store - Ridiculously short range of ranged attackers, especially archers, that makes them hardly better at ranged attacks than melee characters, which kills the purpose of ranged attacks - Enemies have way too much health, characters attack way too slowly, gameplay is extremely slow and repetitive as a result; attack animation is also completely unvaried, it's simply a single-motion move that loops repeatedly, unlike most other RPGs where they're varied to provide realism - Very limited active skills, most of the active skills have no visual effects or little visual effect, and a lot of the active skills are completely useless (ie, does the same damage as a normal attack) - Still the same "kill X number of Y, reward of A money and B experience" routine in the entire game, absolutely nothing new - Good drops are ridiculously rare, the only way to gain great items, especially weapons, is through quest rewards; all my endgame characters were wearing quest reward equipment - Allies drop in and out of the party completely unexpectedly, you don't even have time to take off his/her gear that you placed, and poof, s/he's gone for like 1/3 of the game, and more importantly, that gear is gone for 1/3 of the game; with the sudden drop in/drop out, you have no idea which ally characters you should bother training - No teleportation scrolls to the various cities, making traveling back to towns extremely tedious One playthrough was ok to find out about the story, but second playthrough and onwards gets extremely boring. The pace is still semi-turn-based and slow as ever, just like in Inotia 2.
1) The music doesn't really stop, but there are many caves / dungeons in the game that has muted music, which is apparently a bug according to com2us and would be addressed soon. And yes I agree that the secondary characters should have sound effects, Inotia 2 wasn't any different. 2) Game didn't reset when I received phone calls for me, and the auto-save seemed to work just fine. However there are certain maps in the game that do not permit game saves, that might be the cause of your reset perhaps? 3) Crafting sucked for the most part, and it does take a long of time to collect the proper recipes to build various crafting materials. Mats of one recipe can become another mat and so on, eventually letting you build rarer mats from cheaper mats. Granted there are some very useful items to be had for endgame players, like 12 slot bags and fortifying scrolls, but the droprate for most of these recipes are, well questionable. 4) Warrior Emblems are indeed mostly useless, however it is possible to obtain "legendary emblems" that unlock characters with full skills, and extra free skill points. It's a matter of luck, and, I believe there will be IAPs in the future for these. Still I give props to Com2us for at least making them as in-game drops. Also, you can actually unequip items from other characters directly from the Party screen. 5) I feel different about the active skills. I thought they were very well made and I am using as much as all 6 shortcut slots for some of my characters. Some skills do less damage than normal attacks, but with ability to CC (like stun, etc) which can be very helpful in PvP (which is coming soon, as hinted by the Network mode recipes). With enough CC abilities it means you can go all out on a team without a healer, making the battles last a lot shorter. 6) No teleportation scrolls but there was never a time in the game where you had to backtrack I don't think, at least not nearly as much as other games. 7) The special effects that I have tried, from Barbarian, Templar to Mage, all look fantastic and to be honest, too flashy for my taste. Even the Priest' Celestial Hammer was huge. Makes me wonder if we are playing the same game... Personally I dig the special effects more than Zenonia's. 8) The pacing was good in Inotia 3. The combat isn't as fast paced, but it's better than all those one-hit-full-screen-kill-all skills from similar RPG games in my opinion, although they could have really made the game a lot more challenging than what it is currently. Though I suggest you try a team of 3 rogues, if you haven't already. Edit: By the way, have you made it to the real end of the game? You can actually continue the game after you got the first ending. There are many more dungeons after that point, all the way up to level 100 monsters and bosses.
