Sorry, I'm too lazy to go back through all the pages, has the price been announced? ..please don't tell me it's free, I'll cry
The beta is 402mb installed. May not be the final release filesize, but i think it should be around that size.
Many questions(Not Really) 1st question: Can I be in the beta? 2nd question(Relates to 1st question): Or is the beta over? 3rd question: What devices are supported? 4th question: What IOS is required to run the game? 5th question: When is the game going to be released? 6th question: What will the price of the game going to be?
1. No. 2. Yes 3. iPhone 4S (or above). iPad 2 (or above). 4. 5.1 (or above). 5. Soon. 6. TBA, but it's a flat price - no IAP etc.
Im not in liberty to reveal anything from the beta, but this i can say... When it goes live, GET IT. I've played a lot of similar dungeon crawlers like EotB, and this is the one on iOS that i enjoyed most. For some reason, The Quest didnt draw me in that much, although i did enjoy it a bit back when i still had it installed.
One more question: Judging from the trailer, it seems that this game is around 80% exploration and 20% battle. Is it true? In Eye of the Beholder(s) was full of monsters and enemies and fights in general. I have seen another video in youtube from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDLUZVXCtnM and it seems a kinda boring. Unfortunately there isn't any music but I realise that it's early in the development, so maybe it's better now in the final version.
No - I definitely wouldn't say anything like 80/20. I think the game is a very "standard" dungeon crawler in that sense, with almost equal parts exploration and combat. Very similar balance to the Eye Of The Beholder, Dungeon Master, etc type games. That video is very old and that section has changed a lot, but the enemy population in that area remains about the same. In that 3 minute video, the party gets into combat 3 times. If anything, it's probably "excessive", and quite unfair to the peaceful Giants Rats inhabiting the dungeon
Looks great! Will there be any towns? And is it just one dungeon? I saw the trailer and the wall textures were mostly always the same so i'm curious about that.
Will the game be "mobile friendly"? In other words, will it have save anywhere functionality and an auto-save if you have to quit the app (like a phone call)?
Questions: 1. How long will the game be? 2. Is it a linear quest type with no/little side-quest? 3. Is the number of monsters fixed -- aka no respawn (in contrast with System Shock 2)? 4. Should we expect some puzzles like the dreaded transporter room in Grimrock and pressure plates in EoB ][ (okay I admit I am kinda old -- school)? As for the others like character progress system, etc, they can wait...
1. Around 10 hours. 2. There are no "quests" as such. It's a dungeon crawler, similar to Dungeon Master, Eye Of The Beholder, etc. 3. Monsters will occasionally respawn in some areas of the dungeon to keep backtracking interesting. 4. There are light puzzles throughout the game.
