Shoot your character at the robots, trying to knock them out while dealing with complex structures that follow advanced physics rules including rolls, slides and hinges! A Little Back-Story to Help: The evil monkey Gordo (one free XMG game of their choice to the first person to get this reference...) is on a mission to eradicate the universeof all the fun. He grew up in a mind altering test lab and developed a real hate for all the cheerful happy people playing outside. All the experiments left him an evil genius with an antenna., with which he controls the robots. He plans on taking over the planets with his evil robot army. The good characters are the guardians of fun (okay, this name could use some sprucing up too), but all of them except for rocket boy have been captured on their home planets(see below) Every 20 levels a new character has to be saved and is subsequently available for gameplay. The game "ends" at the robot factory where you must destroy the last evil robot boss. The game starts with the Monkey's landed ship in the background. The game ends with the evil monkey flying away in his ship, hinting at the fact he will be back!!
You are referring to one of the first monkeys to be shot into space, Gordo. So I win a game now, right?
Don't know if its the version you were talking about, but I am still the proud owner of an Atari Lynx system...and that was one of the games that came out for this system. Don't know if it made it to any other system or not.
