Well, my progress report for Q1 just came today. It was not too good either. First of all, my teachers are all asses. Secondly, they all have their standards for us set WAY too high. And lastly, my school has gotten this thing called SkyWard Family Access. I hate it. Each household parent gets a username and password to log into to check their childs grades online with. Teachers can leave comments, post assignments that are late, and parents can view scores on assignments. My report card was: Drivers Ed: F Spanish I: C P.E.: A- Biology Honors: D U.S. History: C English 10: F Algebra 1B: A- what a load of bs. I bust my ass in Biology and I get a D. All our labs are with partners and I usually end up doing all the work, and he quizzes us on stuff we NEVER seen before! Drivers Ed is a waste of a study hall, because my teacher is psycho and has like obsessive compulsive disorder and everything HAS to be done the way he wants it. And in English we use this thing called TurnItIn.com for submitting essays and stuff. So he gives me a zero on a huge essay i worked hard on because turnitin.com is in beta stage and doeant allways get your paper. Does anyone else have school/teacher issues?
god i hate my teachers and skyward. worst of all, no allowance, lunch money for 4 weeks, and tmrw i have a day off! im grounded too and homecoming is tmrw! fml it sucks
School is overrated and pointless unless you want to work in a scholarly profession that absolutely requires you have a masters in something, otherwise it's pretty damn easy to game the employment system and get any job you want. In the end, in the real world, it boils down to charisma and wit, any half baked monkey can figure out most of the common jobs they have these days.
For us it's gradebookwizard. I actually don't mind because it's nice to see how well I do on a test or something before the teacher can give it back to me. You have already been in school for that long? I've only been back for 3 weeks. I actually really like all of my new classes and teachers. My physics honors class is probably my favorite, the teacher is tight and is actually good at teaching.
did you try to contact turnitin.com and complain or tell them your situation so that maybe they could do something like send your teacher and email? and does this website give you a confirmation email when you turn in your work ?you should probably suggest that to turnitin.com if they dont and write a letter to your teacher to say that "since cant rely on turnitin.com work as it should then I will hand deliver my assignments in class on the day it is due. if you find this unacceptable then i must, unfortunately, submit a formal complaint to the principal because i take my studies very seriously and i wish to avoid having my grades negatively affected due to technical problems of using turnitin.com." then it will look like you are a person with intiative and drive not just a mindless space monkey who just makes excuses but does nothing to fix his situation. itll make your parents a little happier maybe because thats probably the sort of person they want you to be hopefully. or you can do the easy thing and stomp around the house with an angry face and kick stuff and talk under your breath just enough so people know that your saying something but they cant make out what it is. yes the perfect plan
Dude... I hate this alot sometimes... My parents get so mad whenever I miss an assignment and it shows up as an F. And then they freak out... Just not fun memories... And if I have a bad test I can't just hide it and make up for it later before report cards, my parents seem to check CONSTANTLY! And it's quite aggrivating. Especially at the beginning of the year EVERYONE does bad in the honors classes but we all make it up. Teachers say it, and I'm not the only one who's screwing up because it's the beginning of the year. But there's no explaining that to my parents... On the other hand, it does have some good points. If an assignment was registered wrong, you can see that and let the teacher know before report cards. Also my parent's dont completely freak out if they see a crappy grade on my report card (Just every other time they look at it.)
Same. The thing is my parents only check it after long periods of time, and when they burst, they f-ckin' explode! I need to keep my Chem 2 grade at a solid B if I want a new phone (don't have one at all ATM).
Mine explode like that too when they see bad grades... except they check more frequently. Imagine what it was like when they saw I had a D in art in 8th grade... not fun... lol
Mine is called genesis and i HATE it. My moms been asking me to log in (since only me and my dad know the password, but my dad forgot so haha).. Anways, i have to make lame excuses until she forgets like "I have to finish my hw first," or "Can I use the bathroom first?" It happened twice so far My grades Accounting- 93 Computers in Business- 98 Spanish 2- 84 (Cause on the first quiz, i got a 78. I deserved a 90 or something cause my teacher took off one point each (and she didn't tell us she was gonna) for not putting the feminine form of a nationality; example: Bolivia= Boliviano (i should've put Boliviano/a) There were like 10 of those, and i got a point of for each. I got some off for accent marks. And on the test, i made STUPID mistakes, even though i knew everything. I got an 80 on that. The project, i was supposed to conjugate verbs; i forgot 2, got a 67 cause of that Algebra 2 (honors)- 91 (only got 2 quizes so far, 90 on both) LAL 1 (honors)- 84. I got a 90 on an essay. 88 for summer reading. 95 on 1st project. 100 on vocab test. 100 on spelling test (who gets a spelling test in 9th grade?).. 75 on stupid My delicate heart condition four question quiz. (got one wrong). and this really screwed me up; 27 on the stupid walter mitty quiz. she said that it would be just comprehension. the day of the quiz,a min. before, shes like "oh yeah, i also put vocab." I knew none of it and i failed BAD. Brought my grade dwon
Same here. I found out the day before the last day in the grading period that i didnt turn in a 150 point assignment and it dropped my grade two letters.
Same here. The website I use also shows the class average, your average, and all your scores. To the OP: it is your own damn fault you suck at school. Grow a pair and do better
