looking nice, the missles look very fluid and awesome, will there be customizable parts like "brakes" is the game momentum based?
Thanks! Some of the parts may be customizable like the main gun, speed, handling and shields, but I haven't made a final decision either way. Regardless of that, there will be a 2nd ship at release that will have different characteristics than the Excalibur (I will... eventually... release some information on this mysterious ship... eventually ) The game is indeed momentum based.
nice tease! new ship (from what you can tell) looks hawt! i'm also a big fan of elite/privateer type of freeroams. i love space explorers that add that upgrade sort of thing in the mix. almost like a rpg/space mix.
Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive and kicking... though I was sick with the Martian Death Flu over the last two weeks Work on Red Nova continues apace, and I'm going to start closed beta testing as early as next week. Just about done a little video to introduce the new ship, and I finished designing the last of the enemy units. Hope people are still as psyched about Red Nova as I am!
Further delays followed by awesome preview videos! I give you the FX-30 Kusanagi Multi-Role Space Attack Vehicle: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Adding some new stuff into the game before I start the first closed beta test!
, looks like you'll need precise aiming w/ some weapons hmm nothing happens if you collide with another ship?
This is what the beta testing is for Right now I'm focusing on the look and feel of the game, tweaking the flight behavior and enemy AI and all that good stuff. Collisions are pretty much done, but I really wanted to get a new video out of the finished ship EDIT: Put the video here cause we're on Page 4 now /o_o\ I give you the FX-30 Kusanagi Multi-Role Space Attack Vehicle: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Hey everyone! Sorry for being so quiet about Red Nova as of late, but as with all software projects unforseen things creep up and cause delays, this is especially true when you're just a one person "team" I'm still trying to get the game out before summer is up, though we are rapidly running out of summer. If not, it will be soon regardless, I just hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me Anyway, I just wanted to post that I've added a third playable ship that will be included in the game at release. Presenting the Phaeton FS-17 Starhawk, progenitor of the Excalibur design and the current standard fighter of the Earth Colonial Fleet: (Click to enlarge)
When you say that do you mean higher res than 1280x720? I could probably do something like that if you were interested
Here's that shot at 1920x1080 suitable for desktop background type things. If you want even bigger let me know! http://celsiusgs.com/rednova/images/desktops/starhawk-1080p.png
I'm getting close enough to start external beta testing in the next few days. As soon as all the bugs are worked out and the last few features are added I'll be submitting it. I don't want to give an exact date because this isn't an exact science, but I'm hoping before September is out
In the middle of working on a few other things, I hit a couple buttons and this came out: (Click to embiggen) I hope those of you with iPads might appreciate this turn of events
In addition to iPad support, Red Nova also supports the iPhone 4's Retina Display. I'll post a screenshot of that later, but it's getting late, so before I go to bed a little desktop wallpaper rendering as a gift to you (Click to enlarge, right click and save link as to save) I hope you like it!
