I can't remember the process, if this is in review on the 10th, does that mean any day now or is there another stage prior to release? I am looking forward to this and the intro price is fantastic.
I don't normally publicly defend my decision to put "Dungeon Defense" (DD) on hold for fear of coming across as whining or being self-indulgent, possibly creating animosity. Oh, what the hell, I'm feeling self-indulgent this morning DD holds a special place in the collective heart of InMotion. Unfortunately as an investment, let's just say real-estate fared better. So for a lot of reasons we lowered the price to $1 on moved on - still a great game and a great bargain IMO. Ironically, "I Dig It", which followed DD, was originally planned to release first. We *actually* put "I Dig It" on hold to focus all efforts on DD. In coming back to "I Dig It" we applied our hard-learned app-store lessons with a vengeance. I'm glad things happened this way, because it made "I Dig It" a far better game. It hit #1 in 16 countries, remaining at #1 in the US for 7 days; its sequel "I Dig It Expeditions" peaked at #21 in the US store. As a result InMotion is still here to tell the tale. If it gives any comfort, in a way, every title we produce has a bit of DD in it, and each is better than the next; Catacombs in particular. So, if you like Catacombs, please forgive past DD sins and throw 4 quarters our way. (Here's where I thought about asking our art department to throw in a picture of a poor one-legged blind boy begging on a street corner, with tattered coat and outstretched cup, uh, in the snow -- how's that for self-indulgence? ) Who knows what may yet be in store for DD if we can get far enough ahead of the evil bill collector? For the time being the app-store mistress demands we continue to look to the future John Howard sole investor, InMotion Software
Apple Review It should be any day. We've experienced anywhere from 24 hours to 6 weeks over the past (nearly) two years. It depends on how busy the Apple reviewers are at the time. Of late, it seems 5-10 days is the norm. There is always the possibility the review results in rejection, in which case the process starts all over again.
Sorry if this has been mentioned, but do you guys plan on adding OpenFeint, Plus+, or Crystal or something else to Catacombs, or any other of your games?
well thanks for the answer .... Just to slightly expand on my initial point - i really do understand that you have to survive, make money, and i am not knocking that. I generally do not expect (and i seem to be in a minority here) massive expansions, upgrades of games after i have bought them. What annoyed / upset me so much with DD is that i distinctly remember that is was posted somewhere here that you had taken on staff with the specific focus of adding (i think it was more maps) to DD, and then this "promise" just vanished. Thats i think what p**sed me off the most. Anyway having got that off my chest i still feel that it really is a shame that it was not more successful because it is a brilliant game, and one i still play now and its still very good, so if at somepoint you are feeling flushed, and having just kicked the latest game out the door, bored - i personally would welcome (yes even as DLC) more / new content to DD ! Anyway i'm sure i'll have a look at Catacombs too
I am thinking this should be anytime now based on when some other games came out. I am looking forward to this, so I check up on it a couple times a day.
Same for me! I always check the morning before leaving to school, and once at school, I check it again here on TA on the Game release section.. Seriously, I can't wait for this beautiful game, and for .99$ only, I think I'll buy the DLC too
You guys could just follow us on twitter. We'll announce when it releases. http://twitter.com/InMotionSW Brian Howard InMotion Software
