It isn't really short for what it is.

I mean, a reimagining of the original SMB wouldn't translate into a Mario64 or later game in terms of scope.

If this was harder and didn't have a hub room, two things that I don't think would improve it, the invitation to complain about the length wouldn't be there.

Thanks guys! Loved the original mega drive version so will definitely pick this up. Had to check the whole thread to see if it had gone freemium or something.

    LOL best post ever :D

I made room and I purchased. So glad that I did!!
It is just so cute and creative. It's interesting to me, that it seems like they were a little ahead of their time when they made for Sega years ago.
It was so funny to listen to the intro. The old crone kidnapping Minnie so she could steel her youth and beauty. "Mickey.... Save me!....."

For me the nostalgia is the characters and Sega, not so much the game itself. Because, years ago, I was h9it by a drunk driver and among all the injuries at the time, was amnesia. So I don't even remember the game! LOL
But, I am really enjoying it. The character voices, the look that Mickey gives when something closes behind him. Definitely an experience. Parts are easy, others difficult. Like jumping from a failing leaf, over a branch, then under, then on top of an enemy. It's not like the fast paced shooters or adventurers of modern day, but, it did port to Ipad very nicely. I think that's what is very important here. How well does it work on the ipad? Because of my memory loss, I can't compare to the original. But, it does seem like it was made for the ipad.
If I had to make a point of criticism, then maybe one. The controls work well. A virtual stick? on the left for movement and you tap on the right to jump. Simple enough.
But..... (always a but... # ) there is a red action button on the right which just seems out of place and sometimes, when jumping I accidentally hit it.

That's it. My oldest daughter saw me playing it. (She's in her 20's. I gave birth to her when I was 3 years old... Kidding!) We might be in an argument over who gets to play it soon. But hey... it's my Ipad not hers, so she can shut up! LOL

w00t! Just finished it. I don't think I'd have been able to best Mizrabel had I not transformed my fingers into Bionic Reaction Machines by playing Boson X a ton lately. This definitely had that early '90s difficulty going on. What a bunch of mad masochists we used to be!

The ending was weird, though. I think Mizrabel must have bipolar syndrome or something.

Protip: stock up on continues by grabbing that Golden Mickey on the second floor of the castle by the windowsill, heading into any random level, then returning to the castle to grab another Golden Mickey... Rinse and repeat until you have enough.

Just got this for the kids :D - great excuse

Looks great, my 6yr old nabbed it off of me right away, but it looks identical to the xbox arcade version. If only all platformers looked this sweet!

I still have my Genesis version and just bought this on the PC a few days ago, so tried to resist. But nostalgia wins out and I buy it for the third time.
