You'd have to be crazy to buy the slim 360 so soon. Do people never learn not to buy new hardware iterations right off the bat? Nearly all consoles have issues in the beginning (and most recently the iPhone 4 has come under fire from several directions) plus the fact that the 360 failure rate was one of the biggest complete and utter fails in recent console history should be enough to scare anyone away until the coast is 100% clear.
to be honest, I just replied out of boredom. I don't own either of these systems. I've just had more fun on the xbox 360 game-wise when I play it over my friend's house, then to the ps3, which I find has beautiful graphics.
The Amazon reviews for the new slim are actually pretty high, but in all honestly, I don't think it can get any worse than the old white console.
Look doesn't matter in a home console. Better games????? No way-XBox has Halo- the single greatest game EVAR. Sure free online, but so many fewer people are online. Get the XBox.

I'm not too interested in the Wii haha and I honestly don't think there will be many issues with the new slim, considering it's not a huge jump from the original 360. But I could be wrong.
LMAO, so wrong on so many levels.... My PS3 gathers dust these days, some decent games on it but the 360 has more on offer, better controller, much better online features (xbox live pi*ses all over psn), more games, better multi platform performance 90% of the time, xbl arcade and achievements which make trophies look crap, cross game chat, custom music in every game, list goes on. Oh, did you know they actually added a clock to the ps3 xmb last year lmao.
You'd better hope it's a huuuuge jump from the original, otherwise you'll be replacing it every 6 months. Enough of the fanboy shit. The controller thing is purely subjective, the main complaint with the PS3 controller is the triggers, and to be honest... you just get used to them. However, nothing on the planet will fix the atrocity that is the 360 controller's d-pad. Better online features? Sure, maybe a couple, but PSN is in fact a fast and reliable service and given the choice I'd choose it over having to pay. You buy your games, you play them online, simple. It's not crippled with issues as people like you constantly suggest. I'll agree that most multi-platform games are slightly better on the 360, but the key word is "slightly". The exact same games are still fantastic and beautiful on the PS3 as well, only this time you get the benefit of playing without fear of RRODing and without having to subscribe to an online service. Exaggerating these differences is nothing but fanboyism. As for achievements making trophies look crap... give me a break. They nearly always have exactly the same freakin' requirements, and out of interest, the PS3 usually gets one more, the platinum. What does a number tell you anyway? 30,000 gamerscore... 30 completed games or 300 barely played games? It's no sign of skill whatsoever, it's meaningless. At least with trophies you can tell more accurately how good the person is by their ratio of bronze trophies to silver, gold and platinum.
