Some tip i learned: When bug are eating your food. Press your hero->choose and equip->Bug hole->use it->click on your ant. Your back to home for 400 don't forget this. When very strong bug are folowing you. Go to your base, turret will kill them. Speed is very important for dodging. Never accept the quest:don't feed your hero for 10m Only buy food place if you really need it.
Round 109 Office Normal The strategies apply also to kitchen. These two maps are much smaller than playroom and yard. Ant: 1: Health 2: Speed 3: Lucky Shot 4: Static Discharge Heroes Levelups (died lv. 19) 2 3 2 3 2 1 3 1 3 2 1 3 2 1 4 1 4 4 4 Heroes Skills (bought in order) Teleport (Holistic map view, Escape, Stun): a necessity for coin collection quests, which upon completion, is a major source of money income in the primary stage. Killing a bug gives 25-40 bucks, but collecting 10 coins one by one gives you 600. Think about it. Don't give much exp though, which makes sense as you are just collecting money. Art Hole (Escape, Emergency return): You can get this one later when you need it. Make sure you save 400 bucks if you base turrets are not quite built yet. Life Support (increase HP of every hero by 50 pts): Get it as early as possible. The earlier you bought it, the more times you can use it, the better. It is the only way to heal you heroes when you food is not much. Better Base Guns (the ultimate secret): This is probably the one most important skill you should bought when you feel you base turrents are good enough. Try to activate only in day time if you have mangifier. It is amazing. Howitzer (Nuke): You might want to get it earlier. I am a spider lover, so I spoiled her as you will see. Equally priced, I prefer assassin cut which clears out hugh numbers of enimies instantly. I think I only used Howitzer 3-4 times during the entire 4 hour play. Weapon Upgrades Rifle (800 bucks): purchased in round 40 Minigun (1500 bucks): purchased in round 61 Bettle: 1: Health 2: Armor 3: Generation 4: Stun Heroes Levelups (died lv. 18) 4 2 4 2 4 3 2 4 3 2 3 2 4 1 1 3 1 1 Heroes Skills (bought in order) Shield (Permanent armor increase, Fanstatic short CD stun) Adrenaline (short CD, great knocking power) Earthquake Jump (the best way to stun enimies coming to your food stack from all directions) Squash 'Em (used only to Gaint Spider, Elephant Snail and Centipede) Stampede (perfect combination with assassin cut) Colossus (bought but never used ) Weapon Upgrades Stick (800 bucks): purchased in round 20 Wrench (1500 bucks): purchased in round 81 Spider 1: Health 2: Speed 3: Assassinate 4: Self Defense Heroes Levelups (died lv. max) 2 2 2 3 3 3 2 1 1 3 1 1 4 2 3 1 4 4 4 4 Heroes Skills (bought in order) Snare Web (I almost always put one at the desk top and one slightly in front of bottle Mr. Fizz. Exception is to deal with Centipede, put wherever it is crawling and slice it with spider) Assassin Bomb (I serve those bombs almost only to centipede, sometimes Giant Spider if Beetle's Squash 'Em is in CD) Poison Cloud (i upgrade this one to combat the baby spiders: it slows speed and eats yours health. If your Ant is moving quite fast, switch to ant and shoot them) Assassin Cut (The problem with it is people tend to save it for boss. I used it only to kill armed ant (8-9 stand in line) and slugs (which don't quite move)) Executioner (More useful in Colesium mode, serving as a lifesaver. If you can use three heroes, Ant plays the lifesaver role) Weapon Upgrades Twin Sword (800 bucks): purchased in round 15 Name Forgot (1500 bucks): purchased in round 28 Base Turrets: I put a lot of money on the base guns and the order I build and upgrade them is (the total time I build and upgrade is 5 + 5 + 4 + 5 = 19, so I will use numbers 1 to 19 to denote the order of my plan) MG (died lv. max) 2 3 4 6 7 Sniper (died lv. max) 1 8 10 16 17 Magnifier (died lv. 4) 5 9 15 18 MG (died lv. max) 11 12 13 14 19 With Magnifier build and upgraded to level 2, you can easily beat round 35, on the condition that you need to 1. Upgrade MG to level 4. 2. Upgrade Sniper to level 2 or 3. 3. Equip with "Better base guns" of Ant. 4. Equip Earthquake Jump of Bettle. Since I am not so much a Beetle fan, this is the only way I can clear out hordes of bugs surrounding the base: first Earthquake Jump and then activate Better base guns, and then switch to spider and come on to slide them up. The way I deal with bosses: Grub Launcher: First things first, you need to be familiar with the places they will spawn. Usually, they will be at 1. Top left corner of the desk (very dangerous) 2. Top of the dest (near the paper and pencil, very dangerous) 3. From the far right end (you got plenty of time to kill it) If it spawns, first check 1 and 2. If they are not there, head straight to the right. Use Ant's teleport to facilitate localization. Once you found it, you can slide it up quickly using spider. Slugs If there is just one or two, use spider to slice them up. In latter rounds (between round 30-40 and also later), there will be 9-10 of them coming out at the same time, making it impossible to kill using spider. You will always be poisoned. In that case, if you keep fighting, you are very likely to be hit by the slugs (coz you are moving slow, you armor is gone and it hurts you a lot) or other bugs ranged attacks. You might want to use Ant Hole to retreat for a while. The way I dealt with many slugs (like 10 of them scattered on the map), is to wait and dodge until daytime and activated "better base guns". The magnifier kills them like crazy. Make sure you lure them to the base a little bit before you activate "better base guns". Caterpillar It deals huge damage to your food stack. Use Ant's Teleporter/Bettle's Shield/Squash 'Em to break the protective shell and slice them up using spider. Giant Spider The way I kill Giant Spider is to use Bettle's Squash Em and then Spider if it still lives. Some people keep them alive for food in latter rounds. I tend to kill them as fast as I can. They are very annoying as i like spider, and the baby spiders slows down her speed and hurts her. BumbleBee This is the only boss that gives you money. You don't need to use any special ability to kill him. I use two effective methods to kill them. 1. Lure it to the base. Switch to ant, using teleportor to stun it. While magnifier is burning him, switch to spider and slice it up circling around him. Won't take you more than 6 slices. 2. Use snare web/shield and use spider slicing it up circling around him if it is far from the base. Snail and Elephant Snail Firstly, Elephant Snail is much more damagable then ordinary Snail. They spawn little bugs constantly. I almost always use assassin bomb for Elephant Snail as I want to kill him fast. You can also combine Beetle's Shield or Squash 'Em. Secondly, if there are like 15 snails (small, middle and large ones mixed together), there are only two ways to deal with them without being hurt. 1. lure them to the base and activate "better base guns" in daytime. Mangifier kills them very fast. 2. assassin cut by spider (I have used assassin cut for them at least 3 times, each time one assassin cut kills at least 8-9 at the same time. What a speed!) Centipede They have a lot of health pts and I almost always save assassin bombs for them, and if doable, use one bomb to hurt two centipede. In one round near 90, there are four of them coming from four different directions. Two of them are very close to the base. The only way to kill them is to strategically plan all your stun abilities: shield, stampede, snare web, earthquake jump, etc. And try to activates better base guns in daytime. Leave them to the magnifier while you keep stunning them and slicing them up using spider. Scorpion If there is only one big king, there are tons of ways to stun and shoot it with ant. If there are many of them (sometimes 9-10 all coming to you), you need to wait till daytime and activate "better base guns". I always always hide in the left bottom corner using Ant doing lucky shot. If they already surround you from all directions, good, use teleport to jump out, and keep lucky shotting. Keep repeating teleporting. It usually needs you to teleport 2-3 times, and they are all gone. Don't try to do melee attack, unless 1. you have Bettle armed with Warrior Gauntlet (give you invulnerabilty for 5 seconds) 2. you are using spider and you are moving very fast (they also spin unbelivably fast too, don't even think you can play with a scorpion like a BumbleBee, unless it is in a snare web) That's probably all of my "tricks". Hope you find it helpful. Finally, special thanks go to Foursaken_Media on the strategy of building and leveling up base guns before you develop your heroes and K?! for tons of useful strategy advices.
Wow, that's fantastic- thanks for the details and the upgrade orders, I think I need to give Magnifier another shot. ETA: Magnifier is awesome- made it to Round 29/63k points on Kitchen (#7 high score) following that strat.
Holy cow, that's great! Thanks a ton for writing that and it'll definitely be very useful. I suppose I can summarize it as "use better base guns and magnifiers for everything" And I agree with Gritztastic above.
haha. In latter rounds, the key lies in killing tons of bugs in short time (otherwise the next round will begin). I believe that is one of the most effective methods
Last night I got to level 46 on Normal Kitchen. Primary reason I did not get any further - game started to lock up and lag like crazy around round 40. I have iPhone 3GS and would consider it pretty decent. When nearly dozen bugs spanwed at the same time, if you tried to move it would lag like crazy, but that's not the worst. The worst problem comes from spider babies. There are literary 100s of them coming at you non-stop. When they crash into hero, for some reason you completely loose control over it. I suspect it's because there are dozens of them around hero and you simply don't see them. I would usually switch to Spider and somehow he would start to move. Closer to 46, it would seem that you loose control of bug. You can still do special abilities and stuff, but when you try to move it just stands still. Than I realized that response time to control stick was just way way way slow. I would hold the stick in direction and bug would start to slowly move in about 2-5 seconds. Anyway, at 46 game was unplayeable for a number of reasons, at least on 3GS.
Interesting... the amount of enemies actually doesn't increase at all starting at round 24 -- so whether you're round 24 or 156, the difference will not be the amount of bugs, but how strong the bugs are -- so that seems strange that you would all of the sudden start to lag at round 40... Unless of course you literally let a million baby spiders spawn (which it sounds like it -- if you had so many latched on you couldn't even move)... Also baby spiders do slow you down, and if you have enough of them latched on it will indeed completely stop you... spider is faster then the other heroes so naturally it takes more babies to slow her down all the way. We'll put in a safety measure though so that there is a max number of babies out at once.
baby spiders I have the same problem with baby spiders on my iPod touch 1G... twice I have had a game become too laggy because of them.
Anyone have a good strategy for playroom on hard? I keep getting owned by wave 5 (I know really sad). Thanks. Nevermind, finally got past that wave.
I just made a office[easy] about 95 round!!(#2 on leaderboard) my strategy is using 4 MG. ants: speed and Lucky shot ->static discharge->health life support ant hole(sometimes use teleporter) Howitzer Better Base Guns use ants when 1)hp need regen 2)giant spider (kill the annoying tiny spider) 3)base is a little bit mass, use BBgun ================================ beetle: stun and armor ->Regen->hp shield stampede squash'em earthquake jump use beetle when 1)deal with little but many bugs 2)siege maggot near base, knock them back 3)centipede, slow it down with high stun %, also attack it well ================================= spider: speed and assassinate ->self defense->health superior assassin night hunter executioner assassin cut use spider when 1)kill any boss level bug(with beetle's jump!!) 2)knock back with executioner 3)a lot of big grub near base(assassin cut is effective) ================================= i love spider most, but using every of three is really important. in later level, i need to go to the right part of map to kill bugs fast, otherwise there will be too many bugs. i dont think spider's skill is good-use..... any good idea??
how to unlock magnifier? all other turrets are unlocked and i think i reached 10th level on all maps.
magnifier is unlocked by reaching round 10 on Yard... so it sounds like it should be unlocked. I would double check that you have gotten to round 10 on yard...
Can't get past the mid-20's on easy (office) Guys, Love this game. Addicted to it. However, I can not get past round 26 at best in the office (easy). Base is usually equipped with 2x Zapper and 2x Machine gun. Aunt usually has: howitzer, mini-gun (if I can afford it), ant hole, better base guns, and porta touret. Sometimes I'll get the life support. Spider usually: superior assassin, twin swords, assassin bomb, poison cloud, executioner Beetle: wrench, earthquake jump, squash 'em. Usually, by the early twenties, the grubs and pill bugs and centipedes are so thick, that no amount of firepower clears them. If I do wipe them out, the food gets depleted, as there is much less food in the later rounds than there is in the early going. So, what am I doing wrong? I read of people getting to the 80th round. How is that possible? Any tips or obvious issues with my strategy greatly appreciated.
I've made it to round 130+ in version 1.01. Drop one or both zappers for machine guns. Porta turrets can't be relied upon in later rounds. Get entrench and upgrade lucky shot to max. Pick up Assassin cut and snare web. Drop executioner, it does very little damage. Choose two of the following: Berzerker, Warrior Gauntlet, Stampede, Adrenaline. Clean out grubs with Beetle, use Superior Assassin and Earthquake jump to get food at the ends of rounds, Assassin Bomb and squash 'Em for Centipedes, and teleporter/Ninja Smoke for the pill bugs. The biggest single issue with your strategy is wasting money and a turret slot on a second zapper. Good luck!
My strat for Pond - Easy, I reached round 102 & 28 quests completed. Turret Setup: 2 MG's 2 Laser Abilities in order Purchased: Ant: Teleport Porta Turrets -> Replace with Life Support at 30+ Plasma Cannon Howitzer Spider: Ninja Smoke -> (Swap Between) Assassin Bomb Spider Web Superior Assassin Assassin Cut Beetle: Never bought equipment until 50+ Warrior Gauntlet Colussus EQ Jump Smash Em Early Game: Spent mostly using Ant to quicky take out dragonflies & focus on upgrading turrets. Placing porta turrets along the path to your stash helps deal with the flies. I had ant level 20 by round 45 which tells you how much i used him. Mid Game: I upgrade Ants weapon and max lucky shot to keep crabs and giant dragonfly away, make constant use of teleport to deal with the large groups of flies. You can use ninja smoke & ant hole if you wish to collect food easily or for doing quests. Howitzer deals with the strong bugs like snails and crabs(treat crabs the same way as a scorpion and avoid melee). Late Game: I didn't upgrade Spider/Beetle's weapons until turrets were fully upgraded at this stage but by now you should have minigun for ant which can easily knockback everything except centipedes. The difficult part here is when Queen Ants spawn with other bugs so you need to activate superior assassin and use all your powerful abilities like howitzer and assassin cut to deal with them.
you should add that one of the new heroes will be a ladybug fencer [/URLhttp://img28.imageshack.us/img28/9140/ladybugsmall.png
