looks like we'll get "No Service" for this game, lol. (top right corner!) Anyway, nice icon! Abit to grayish would be my only complaint (the background could maybe be different?) Another thing I noticed: The Icon Order. OMG! Bug Heroes Battlefield!
Nice work on the image, but the text clutters it up; take advantage of the fact that the full title of the game will fit under the icon without being abbreviated and let the image speak for itself (see how nice the Gun Bros. icon and title look together?). 8D
I agree with K76, you don't need that text there as it is right below. Without the text you'll also have more space, so you could add the Beetle or Spider in there is you wish. I like it. Do we beta testers get anything from this? Promo code or anything? I am just curious. If we don't get anything, that doesn't matter. LOL. We got to play an awesome game early anyway.
Pssh, I still prefer my icon more: Made this during the beta because I couldn't stand the "icon" icon. Besides, text is unecessary and won't be legible without the retina display. Would have expected more detail, especially more heroes and a better background. I was able to get all three heroes into a standard 57 by 57 icon but i didn't have good pictures to start with so it looked awful. Also, Jamie- did you get the crash logs I sent you? I'll send them again tonight. Oh, what Are the new heroes going to be?
Yeah we got the crash logs and they're all fixed for release of course And thanks everyone for the feedback so far We'll actually probably whip up another idea or two and see if we can get a vote going before we submit...
Sorry for the extreme lateness but I just have a little impressions for those who haven't gotten to play the game. The game plays very similar to Dungeon Defenders, in that you can set up weapons to protect your tower as well as go and defeat them for yourself. The character is upgradeable and there are 3 different characters! All of this is a neatly packed dual stick shooter! What more could you ask for?
Glad you're looking forward to it! We are really excited to finally get this game submitted (well, not quite yet, but most likely tomorrow!). The idea just came from the fact that we wanted something accessible, yet deep and strategic at the same time. We were able to put a new spin on a base with the whole food collecting and defending concept, while having tons of leeway with different types of bugs for all sorts of neat characters. The whole bug universe seemed cool too, and I've always been a fan of playing small characters in an everyday environment... its interesting to see something so familiar in a new perspective. And thanks iVaro I would like to point out that imo Bug Heroes is a lot more accessible and casual friendly then Dungeon Defenders though, but yet still offers a lot of the depth found in that game.
If only the towers initially accessible at the beginning of levels was powerful enough to make us confident enough to leave the base for a bit to fight and explore. I found that most times I was playing, I was afraid to explore the level and leave my base open to enemy attacks. For even with multiple towers set up, the enemies were still too powerful for the towers to hold off. Other than that, this is an awesome game with great depth and high re-playability! I bought Dungeon Defenders in an attempt to distract myself until the full version of Bug Heroes is released, but time after time I found myself getting bored and frustrated with DD and just loading up Bug Heroes (beta) to satisfy my base-defending desires. I'll definitely be buying this day one.
Thanks Turrets have been tweaked a bit for the final release In general though, you do need to upgrade your turrets in order to remain effective as the game goes on. Also not every wave has bugs attacking your food stash, so there are many rounds where you can go explore without worrying about your base being attacked at all. We tried to get a good mix of different types of scenarios to keep things interesting, so some waves have you all out attacking with your heroes, others all out defending your food stash, and still others a mix.
Alright, here's our new icon rendition with no text This is probably the one we are going to go with now, but let us know what you think!
Better, I sitll don't like the gray background though, but it's definetly alot better than the 1.st icon!
