Haha, guy is clever And thanks everyone, glad you're looking forward to the game! Random question (but not so random for my secret reasons )... I never got into any rogue-like games, but how long would you say an average game lasts?
Hmm... Intriguing that you should mention such a thing... Any chance we could be seeing roguelike elements in Bug Heroes? Just a guess, but you never know. And I've never actually completed a roguelike tbh. There's only two that I've ever actually gotten into (Doom Roguelike and Fargoal), and I made very little to no progress in either one.
looking good, hopefully this isn't all wasted solely on the midget screens. i.e. ipad support? sorry if its been asked, didn't want to backread 25 pages. perhaps state this basic tidbit on the very first post of this thread if its been answered one way or the other. thanks.
We are currently discussing iPad support including ways that we can make an iPad version unique. Nothing is set in stone as of right now. Thanks! Bug Heroes definitely plays unlike anything out there Heck, "dual stick shooter" is only used to describe the control scheme and thats about it. Unfortunately I think people automatically think "mini gore clone" when they hear the words dual stick shooter.
this game looks awesome! I beta tested N.Y.Zombies and loved it, so I am definitely looking forward to this one as well. It would be awesome if I got into the beta for this too, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up, I'm just so excited to play
How about you just eliminate "Dual Stick Shooter" altogether? It always seems to draw plenty of negative attention whenever someone mentions "Dual Stick Shooter". In fact, "Castle Defense RPG Shooter" works just fine for me. Not defining what sort of shooter it is increases attention, as far as I can tell.
True -- using those 3 descriptors is a bit cumbersome anyway. But really, I just hope people judge the game on its own merits... so far looks like most people realize from the video its not just another dual stick shooter though, which we are very happy about
uh guys, the only reason i came was because it said dual stick shooter. don't diss the dual stick shooter.
Yeah then again you're right too I suppose its like zombie games... for every 1 person who is like "sigh, ANOTHER zombie game???" there are like 50 others who will love it as long as its a good game.
if you insist on having dual stick shooter in the title, add 'evolved' to it, since its more than that. personally i don't care either way, as it doesn't imply anything good/bad to me, just a means of control, which i tend to like and assume to be an option for control in almost any game. still, i DO hate long game titles, if its longer than 3 words, you need to get back to the drawing board and come up with something more unique. "RPG Shooter" would definitely make someone stop and wonder (if they like either) or keep going (like i do when i see 'jump' or 'doodle' in a title)
Who would seriously put the game category in the name? it sounds stupid. Bug Heroes on its own is great.
Yeah we're definitely not going to put all that stuff in the actual title name. But as a general descriptor it would be nice to have something a bit condensed. But then again, I think its already been proven that "dual stick shooter" is probably more of a good thing then bad. I think the key is probably just that it offers at least something new and is done right.
