Why the hell would they go backwards anyway,Iphone 2g had a full fledged TPS but iphone 6 gets a gallery one, that's just stupid.Glad they are making a full fledged TPS game,If I wanted to play a cover shooter I would play frontline commando.I do wish however it's 'third' person same as gears of war instead of COD.
Whilst I am glad they are changing it, it's got nothing to do with the latest phone that's available. Cover shooters can actually be quite good fun, and aren't necessarily a step backwards.
BIA2 was awesome... before they turned it into freemium garbage. This better be premium and stay premium.
Knowing gameloft it's going to be ftp crap anyway. Where is the gameloft from 3 years ago we all love. The modern combat 2 days!
I didn't try MC5 yet but MC2 was the best of series so far and agree with you GL already changed.....
They are a step backwards in almost every way imo,They don't require any skill as such. You don't have to position yourself correctly or plan anything to get to a cover point it's already done for you,Same with 0 hip fire. They are duck hunts with third person view and reduced immersion that comes from a pointer gun. The other thing is that they mostly always have 0 level design, pacing is off and the options for strategic play are extremely limited, they might as well remove cover and just make it a gallery shooter. Not to say they're extremely cheap to make compared to full fledged ones and that's the very reason you have so many of them in the mobile market. It's same as Rockstar going top down from 3d perspective for gta games,It blocks too many gameplay mechanics and would be considered backwards by majority.
To be perfectly honest I liked the way it looked as a 3rd person shooter. The footage they showed at CES 2014 was waaaaaaay better than what they showed at E3 2013. If they crafted a premium experience out of the 3rd person concept, it would be pretty awesome
It's called adapting to the market. If nobody is buying premium, why keep trying to sell it. Dead horse and all that. It turns out people are all talk and no follow through.
There are some things done so well like EPOCH, but that is pretty rare. Kill Switch on the PS2 was basically a cover shooter, but it had free movement, and the cover shooting part was so well done. But yeah, for the most part, they arent really as fun.
Epoch is an exception but I wouldn't want another game like that. Kill switch was incredible and had better a.i than most AAA shooters of thks generation,Enemies even reacted realistically to fog of smoke grenade and whatnot. It was short but sweet I played it 4-5 times over just because how fun it was. Hopefully GL will make a quality free roaming 3rd person shooter,9mm was pretty good when it was released hopefully this will have live up to the name.
Well, from what i've seen Gameloft has given more focus on, i wouldnt rely on them to be the one to make one that im looking for.
That's why iOS gaming bums me out. That article about EA on a week ago really opened my eyes to freemium and its impact on gaming. Yeah, we could have gotten a battlefield series on here done by a professional team, but instead we have a company liking classics . Oh and 9mm is a bad ass max Payne knock off.
So is BIA3 not a new FPS. Or not an FPS at all. (I know it was a cover shooter but extensive rework implied change of game style to me)
