I can't say it better myself. BIA was a fantastic game for the time, and still remains as my favorite game of the time, simply because it was really pioneering games on the platform. Up until then, it was all 2D graphics or really simple 3D, and mostly casual games aside from one or two actual games. This game was one of the biggest things that ever hit the app store, and I don't think it gets enough appreciation. I really can't wait for 2. I just wonder if it will be in first or third person this time around. I kinda want to see how a TPS would look now with Gameloft's new awesome graphic abilities, and just to see a TPS online.
Why wouldn't it be online? Gameloft have proved that they can include it - Nova and MC: Sandstorm (well sort of ). I'm pretty sure that there will be online multiplayer, from initial release.
They have been working on it. They announced it at the beginning of december and they must have been working on it even longer before that.

They didnt mention multiplayer, they announced the game, but seeing the trend (even labyrinth 2 has it) I think it is safe to expect it. I am hoping at least
