I've played worse games on iOS, but man is this lazy. They will never update this. It's only worth a dollar for the curiosity to play the worst use of a quality game's assets since I can remember.
Batman and spider man were just as bad. Not for graphics but for gameplay but on this game you can't see the gameplay graphics cause your so far away(iPod touch) they might as well used dots.
If you're talking about the Gameloft versions, I couldn't agree with you more. I was immensely excited when they announced a NEW free roam Spider-Man game. (I absolutely LOVED the first one) I was very disappointed at the fail on the graphics for i.t (for my iPod Touch 4g, that is) Why not: A: make more effort to increases the graphics on lower-end devices, or B: Just drop support for it period. I bought it as soon as it came out, And I must say, I wish I had saved my 6.99. Big disappointment. Edit: Forgot to add just how laggy the game was. I could barely play it. Edit: I wouldn't have cared so much about graphics if they had increased the FPS.
I'm on an iPhone 4S, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man played pretty fantastically and I found it fun. But I waited for the $0.99 sale on each. I hear yah on the iPodTouch 4 though... my son has issues with his on some of these more ambitious titles.
Well the major reset helps with after downloading big apps. They don't need to drop support cause most of the time its bit there fault its apple for pushing out newer hardware so quickly. I bet with a 3 year old computer you can play batman arkyham asylum and also play AC3. But I can't play final fantasy rythem or the world ends with you because of ram issue? I find it confusing on certain aspects. If you want the iPods to act like computers then treat then like it.
Very true. New tech is nice but at the rate Apple is pushing it out is insane. Most people cannot afford the latest and greatest products. But I still think that Gameloft should make at least some effort to increase FPS or graphics on these devices. Again, it's all centered around opinion, so you decide if you agree or disagree with decisions made by devs.
Well gameloft is better then most devlopers with support but others say 4g is supported but sometimes its not.
Same here. Of course I've never installed them. Isn't the Warner Bros. Batman game supposed to be worse?
Well, I just picked up Rythym Studio, Gunslinger Ep. 1, a Fighting Fantasy book, Euphloria, and Sketch Synth, all on sale for .99, in the in the last 15 minutes. I'm about to buy (on sale for more money) the upgraded King of Fighters game. My wishlist is crowded. Why should I buy crap for 99 cents when the releases and sales are coming so fast I can barely keep up?
It's better then most. There's a liitle lag and crashes sometimes but I got it at 99 cents and its a better infinity blade clone.
Yeah. The Gameloft one is solid. It's almost a spiderman game in the way you use the grappling hook to get from building to building. The WB one is more of a fighting game or infinity blade clone. I passed on it each of the times it went to $0.99. I picked up Piyo Blocks 2, Off The Leash, Happy Fight, Endless Roads, Action Driver, and about a half dozen other games... for $0 this morning. Heck everything from HalfBrick yesterday for free too. But I did get Pretty much everything except that latest KoF game from SNKP when they went on sale last week after Metal Slug 1 released. I see no reason to buy something known to be garbage for $0.99. Sure give it a try if it goes free to see the train wreck if you're that curious... but throwing even $1 at crap seems stupid when there are solid options like Cubed Rally Redline or other decent games out there for $1.
Yes, but my thoughts are that if it barely plays, (it did to a point for me) there is no real point for supporting it. Now I know lots of people have the touch 4, thus wanting to play the game, they will (atleaat in my case) be disappointed. I have no problem paying 7 bucks for a game that play OK (eg: a few crashes an hour, or so, somewhat laggy, and Idc about graphics MUCH (keyword much, I still do care about them to a point), I think any game that plays reasonably well is good). But, moving on, Gameloft created a masterpiece in MC4, it play very nicely on my touch 4. Next to no lag, next to no crashes, and not bad graphics-wise. Anyway, Gameloft is still one of my favorite devs, but Spider-Man was a fail in my eyes. (I did enjoy Batman though) Sorry for any spelling errors, punctuation mistakes, and such. I am to lazy to proof read right now. :l
For the gameplay... No. Just get this for collection purposes or because of Borderlands or something else. You'll just be disappointed with the game, especially when you've played The granddaddy of this genre, Battleheart.
Yep, for a game that says "strategic cover system" on it's screenshots, I've never played a game in this genre with so little tactic. FWIW there is no cover system, let alone anything strategic.
Yep dont bother with this one, I got it on the last sale and the unresponsive controls killed it for me.
Yeah, everyone keeps warning to stay away from this one. It's so tempting though, but as the last sale, I think I will pass mostly due to disk space. Too bad though, looks like it had a lot of potential.
I don't base that much of my buying decisions off of the guys that do the TA Plays videos... but this one seemed clearly worth staying far away from. If you need to spend money Afterburner Climax and Metal Slug 2 hit the AppStore tonight. I'm going to probably get both.
There's an update (im currently downloading, but it's fighting bandwidth with my movie downloads), claiming that they improved the character pathing. If they do fix that, the game will be more playable, but still probably not so good compared to Sefirah, Fantasy Adventure or big daddy Battleheart. We'll see. I'll play the game again and post my thoughts on the update, but right now, i'll go to sleep. This isnt something i'd want to lose sleep for.
