I've googled this and come up with virtually nothing, so I figured I'd make a thread here.

My iPod Touch 2G is 7 months old, and I have a FM Transmitter/charger that I use in the car (a Macally FM Cup), and it's almost as old. It worked just fine at first, but in the past month, I've noticed that when my iTouch is plugged up to it, the battery indicator flashes rapidly between plug/lightning bolt, and I can also hear it in the static if there's no song playing. This doesn't start as soon as I plug it up, and it doesn't do it all the time (most of the time, though). Every so often my iTouch will beep and stop playing.

This isn't a huge annoyance for me, and I really like the convenience of a cup holder FM-Transmitter, plus the signal is really strong, but I'm worried that this might be damaging my iPod. Has anyone seen this sort of thing happen? Would a complete backup/refresh fix things? It's not like my iTouch is the most stable device; a month after I bought it, it started constantly rebooting, and I had to wipe it and restore to fix that.
