bitBulletin - Universal forums browser for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad bitBulletin has officially been approved by Apple. It is now available worldwide. App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.
Dang this would be great for me, but 4.99 is a little steep for me. Sorry. $1.99 would be an insta-buy
What happened to the free version with an IAP upgrade? I'd pay $4.99 if I could try it first, and know that I'll actually enjoy using it.
We are working on a Lite version (without IAP) which we plan on releasing very soon. Thank you for your interest in bitBulletin. You can follow our blog here http://bitbulletin-app.blogspot.com/ for up-to-date information concerning bitBulletin's Lite version.
Just wanted to let you guys know that version 1.1 of bitBulletin has been submitted yesterday. This is huge update that fixes a ton of issues and also add quite a long list of new features. I will be back later with the long list of changes.
We can tell you that we are using it here on an iPhone (over 3G network) and iPad to browse and post without problems. Here is a link to our blog site with the list of changes introduced in update 1.1. It is HUGE. We won't let our users down. We are dedicated to our product. http://bitbulletin-app.blogspot.com/2011/02/bitbulletin-11-has-been-submitted.html
phpBB v3.x support is fully integrated in update 1.1. If everything goes smoothly with 1.1, we will then submit the lite version.
Work on update 1.2 is under way. Even if update 1.1 was submitted over the weekend, it does not mean we will take a rest from improving bitBulletin. So today, we did just that, work on improving the app. We also started working on a nice little video to demonstrate the prowess of bitBulletin. We have started implementing advanced features that we were planning for later on. The first one displays the number of new posts in the Sites menu as a badge on top of the site icon. The second is if you click on a link in a post and that link points to a valid forum address, then instead of using the internal web browser to view that link, normal bitBulletin display will be used. There are quite a few more new features we will add in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. Check this post for screen shots and more information: http://bitbulletin-app.blogspot.com/
Btw, phpBB 2.x is almost finished as well. Next we will work on IPBoard, followed by myBB forum engines.
bitBulletin version 1.2 has finally been submitted to Apple. In this new version you will find the following new features: * Threads subscriptions maintenance and syncing with bitBulletin's favorites. * Better redirection support. * Ability to search in the Forums list. * View new posts menu option.
I am loving this app. It's perfect for me as I do browse a lot of forums, and was well worth the price. Thanks.
Hmm... I'm interested, but not entirely sure what this app does. Is it like an RSS reader, but for forums only? Can you please go over the benefits this has over just going to the sites? No ads and less lag, I would imagine. I'm not saying isn't worthwhile at all, I'm just looking for a description of its strengths and primary uses. Thanks!
