I picked this up when it first came out and played it a few times and kind of forgot it. I came back to it today and am having a blast. It's got that just one more time addictive appeal to it- like tilt to live or alphabetic. It's such a simple game, but man is it a great little one. It's sad there are only like 150 high scores on openfeint...I hope this changes soon, it's deserved.

Can't wait for the review. I've been playing it and it's great fun.

I can't help but compare this game to "Sword & Sworcery EP", or what I've seen of it in the trailers.

The music is very good at emerging you into the environment, and graphically, it's very pixelated and simple, similarly to Sword & Sworcery EP. Loving the game, if you haven't picked it up and you like survival games like Doodle Jump and Spirit, I would suggest you pick this up.

I was able to get the less than 100 earlier today, it mostly came down to getting lucky with the dot placement. I actually found the 7 shield achievement to be much more difficult, even on easy. I could get 6 fairly easily, but took forever to finally get the 7th.

Purchased this yesterday, and loving it all - from the menu design, through the music, and all the way to the gameplay. Very addicting, and well executed.

I'm not very good at it, but could not stop playing it on the train today, commuting to work with my head nodding to the music.

While I'm not very good at the game, at least not yet, I still enjoy it and see it stay on my phone for a good while!

One question. Is anyone else having problems with unlocking achievements? I was without 3G/wifi connection when I unlocked a few, and it did not sync with OF. I've redone the challenges with internet connection, and they still do not appear. I'll be glad for any tips according to this.

Are you sure you actually got the achievements? I didn't have any problems, but I think I've pretty much always had a connection, so maybe there is a bug there you've found. Not sure.

I think the dev should get this game into freeeappaday or as the OpenFeint game of the day. I don't mind that it would be free for many then, as it was well worth the purchase price, and I'd like to see this game get a lot more exposure (as well as expand the leaderboards extensively), and that in turn ought to help with sales after that. Seems like it's a perfect match for such a promotion as it's criminally under-the-radar. Putting it out there for free for one day ought to do the trick, I think.

@BrushMyNoseOff ..interesting.. you may have found a bug. I'll start investigating.

@crunc not a bad idea. It just got featured in new and noteworthy, so I'll think about it. I want to see how it goes so far this week. it's hard enough to make any money on a 99cent app, let alone giving it for free :D

stfi, I think those laser beams should also destroy meteors.

glad to see your getting featured by apple, this game deserves it...I've had 2 crashes my self. I believe both happened with the same chain of events. I grabbed the 1000 power up and almost immediately hit an astroid and died. The game then shut down. Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but both times I also would have set a high score.

@brush, sometimes with openfeint I don't get an achievement right away but if I exist the app and go back in it will show up.

@twiddle I actually do have a laserbeam version that destroys asteroids, but it ends up making the game too easy, since every time a laser fires it clears out nearly a third of the board.

@caltab interesting suggestions. I'll have to think about how to do that. Also, strange crashes, and on a 3rd gen iPod too... hmmmmmm. do you remember if you had internet access when those crashes happened? Also did it happen as soon as you were hit, or when you were hitting the screen to move away from the red screen with the meteor... might be something to do with openFeint. I'll investigate this

I've noticed some crashes too, and also achievements not being saved without a crash. I thought the achievement bug was connection related, as I never encountered it when I had an active connection.

Regardless, I'm sure will be fixed.

Anyway, don't give it away for free - if anything you should be charging more. I think it's taking a little while to catch on because the screenshots can be a bit deceiving - it's hard to show how much fun and depth there is in Bit Pilot in a screenshot. It's one of those games you need to play for yourself to really see (and hear).

Anyway, mark my words: this game is gonna be huge!

There's a chicken and egg issue there. This could be remedied, perhaps, with a free Lite version, but I wish Apple would take the necessary step and have demos be mandatory, with in-app purchase to unlock full games, with prices listed as Free Demo and Full Game unlock purchase price in one listing. No separate download of a full version, and you can unlock right within the demo, with no additional download required. It's a substantial difference that benefits the buyer as there's demos for everything, and benefits the developers because they can put "Unlock the game now!" right in their game, and people get to try and see that there game is good (and, yes, or see that it isn't) and unlock the game instantly if they want. See the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade store. Apple could learn from that.

picked this up last night. very fun game at it's core.
I think the pixel art aspect could be a little more polished but it's not necessary I suppose.

I do find the game gets a bit jittery at times. reminds me of Hook Champ jitter (considering they're both pixel styled there may be more in common there).

    great game

Any news on that achievement problem (maybe bug) I've encountered?

PS. What's everyone's favorite track to play to? I like #2 the most.

Picked this game up the other night. Really fantastic. Beautiful, simple pixel art, intuitive controls, a simple, addicting premise, and, I feel the highlight of the game, freaking awesome bit music. I would purchase said music to have on my iPod if it were available. But, really this games great. I hope this gets popular so we can see some updates. I'd like to see new arenas of different shapes, new obstacles perhaps, maybe some powerups, I don't know, but I really wanna hear some new tracks. And a few bugfixes would be nice. Anyway, great game, thank you very much.

There are a few Sabrepulse tracks on iTunes, but you can download most of their catalog here: http://www.crunchyco.com/music/sabrepulse.html

That being said I don't know which tracks are in the game, if someone compiled a list it would be pretty easy to mix up an OST ;)
