Interesting why Avatar and Glyder 2 wasn't even mentioned here. Those are my top picks for BEST platformer. For Indie platformer, I'd go with Spider and for a simple hidden gem one, Flickitty.

A beautiful and slow platformer. You got unlimited lives and you need them, since the levels can be more ore less strategic at times and you have to time your jumps precisely. Plus: you can unlock three different minigames.

All in all, VERY original stuff in here :)

    Check out this gameplay vid:

No Spybot? It was the first true iPhone platformer!

Anyway, none in the list is as great as good-old-Sonic

I like all in your poll, Soosiz is still best for me, but lately I've been very engrossed in the world of Plushed. And yeah, do check out Chop Chop Ninja. It's very good.

While Plushed looks great, I don't reallly like the slow-paced gameplay.... Currently in the lead are the Rolandos (11) (I combined them because they're essentially the same), Hook Champ (13) , Soosiz (17) , and Spider (10)!

Im also trying Chop Chop NInja right now. It looks good...but I am not sure how I feel about the controls...

Does Ninja really only have 10 levels... That's a bit short for me... but It has fun gameplay. Soosiz seems like a more in depth alternative, if slightly less exciting. (Soosiz also seems to have better controls).

I voted for Spider... altough I don't see Spider and Hook Champ as real platformers... these two games managed to create their own type of genre, similar enough to platformer to lik like a platformer, but introducing some totally new gameplay elements...

    My favourites:
    1. Spider
    2. Hook Champ
    3. Soosiz

Plushed only has ten, but in both games, it doesn't matter. Because both will get updates. And the levels are fairly big. And if you have a blast for 2 or 3 hours, it's still better than being bored for 10 :)

Soosiz has simple, yet working, button controls while Chop Chop Ninja really is going new paths and they work perfectly. Give yourself a minute learning the new attempt and you will love it. Feels very right, always logical.

Both games are hard to compare with a typical platformer.
    VERY different gameplay.

    Rolando is way more strategic!
Soosiz is very simple Mario-like fun.... running and jumping.
Just from time to time you have to search hard for the right way.
