Which movie are you going for?

    - The Hurt Locker: The suspense is ridiculously intense in this great war film.

-An Education: A hidden gem in the movie business, only made $100,000.

    - District 9: A really refreshing take on a Sci-Fi.

-The Blind Side: The tear-jerker of the year.

-AVATAR: Completely revolutionized graphical effects. Compared to seeing Star Wars in 1970.

-Inglourious Basterds: An interesting alternate reality of WWII, it's a fun and abstract story.

-precious: Nevermind, maybe this is the tear-jerker of the year.

-A Serious Man: A sort of weird, dark kind of comedy, it's a pleasantly weird little film.

-UP: Probably the best animated film of all time, it's a cute but bittersweet movie.

-Up in the Air: George Clooney really delivers in this dramedy about a chronic traveler.

-Enviro-Bear 2010: The action is great, plus all the romantic and dark subplots in this complicated thriller.

    You forgot 2012!
The only good thing about that movie was the amount of explosions they had!

In all seriousness District 9 and The Hangover were the only movies released in 2009 that I really enjoyed.

    Inglorius basterds....FTW!?!?!

The Hangover? I dont get what the hyp was about....maybe because i've never drank or anything? But IMHO it sucked Steve Job's.

and Distrcit 9...REALLY!?!?! That was creepy and weird...not saying Avatar wasn't

Ha! You should have excluded Avatar just to see what people would say. IMO Avatar was horrible. Totally an environmentalist movie. They even mostly stole the plot! prepares to be flamed...ASBESTOS SUIT FTW!

The Hangover had it's moments. I'd own it on DVD if i had the money, nah.

District 9 was amazing and yes this is coming from someone who is yet to see Avatar. Although what makes D9 so much better then the other comp is that it's something we've never seen before (that goes for Avatar as well). But for an Indie Developer to get Peter Jackson (the saint who brought us LOTR) to represent his movie and not only do that but get Weta Works to help out is astounding. I don't see how odd and "creepy" it is. I found it to be amazing.

And the acting was great. I watched an interview with the director and he said that all of the dialogue was improvised. And it was that guys first time acting.

I enjoyed District 9 the most, but Up was very good too.

    Avatar was great, but cliche.

District 9 - Sci-fi that makes you think. Sure there are better science fiction stories out there, but they're all in print.

Hmmmm, Blade Runner was pretty good too...I'll have to think about that more.
