No you're not. You bore me to the core. A refreshing change would be a measured, informed, and intelligent response to their games. Not your forte.
Done that already, after I see the 100th thread about Gameloft games, that is full of fanboys, I don't want to write it again, they wouldn't get it anyway.
Maybe it's time to accept the fact that some people like their games and just move on. Saying "they suck" over and over again is just spamming at this point.
You sure bout that? Ravensword, inotia 2, warfare incorporated, NOVA (for the most part), Real Soccer 09, etc. Just because I don't like all of gameloft's games doesn't mean I hate big games. Christ its all or nothing with you guys. Okay here's the thing. I don't hate gameloft, I like a lot of their games and don't like many of their games. But a lot of gameloft fanboys are just (if not more) annoying as the haters you're complaining about. If I say I don't like a (singular) Gameloft game, I get flamed for it and labeled a gameloft hater. View the post I quoted above (although not flaming, it was pretty unneccesary to jump to that assumption).
I generally dislike Gameloft games/ports, but Driver was a pretty decent game. Really the only thing that could of made it better was physical controls, but that's not GL's fault. I felt they did the best they could with what they had. Which again, what came out was a pretty good game(IMO). The rest of the games on the poll I just did not like at all.
Well, imo, Gameloft haters are a bit worse than the fanboys. At least with the fanboys, they're just posting about something that they like (a lot), and who's to say that they shouldn't have the right to? Anyway, I didn't vote since I haven't played those particular ones, and the last ones are two extremes. I prefer their 'original' (I know, ironic) games.
I find Gameloft fanboys pretty boring and annoying, too, and I think the argument that the AppStore would be filled with Doodle Jump clones if it weren't for GL is specious. More to the point, you and S.I.D. are good examples of people who generally don't like Gameloft but who can still talk about their games in an intelligent way. You can come to a thread like this one a make a real contribution to it, rather than just spam "Gameloft sucks" to get a "+1" and "LOL" from the usual suspects. You certainly didn't deserve to get nearly-flamed for your comment, that's for sure.
I'm surprised not to see "The Settlers" included in the poll, given it was ported from the PC game, and works very well on the iPod touch/iPhone as it isn't a game that requires a physical d-pad etc. I haven't played any of the other games, but based on reviews, I'd place Settlers above the others (other than maybe Driver)
where only gameloft fanboys post? really now?..have you read the comments before yours? half of them are against gameloft like you. refreshing change?..you mean posting "gameloft sucks" in every thread you can catch?..jesus christ grow up. Maybe you couldn't understand the visual representation of the poll either.
Gameloft can go rot in a sack. Seriously they make the shittiest games. Whenever I see the word "Gameloft" i vomit uncontrollably.
Wow: an emetic reaction and you still read and post on this thread. You must be a real addict -- I suggest a twelve step program. First step: avoid Gameloft threads. Second step: avoid Gameloft threds. Keep at it till it sticks. (Are you wearing nice clothes? Nowhere near a toilet? GAMELOFT!)
Come on guys, lets get back on topic. Honestly, I think Gameloft games are fun at first, but, for the most part, do not hold much replay value. But there are other threads for that. Now, on topic; my favorite port would have to be Driver. I haven't played it in a while, but I did enjoy it more than Earthworm Jim, Rayman 2 (which I probably would've liked more if the camera worked better), and Assassin's Creed. Also, as mentioned earlier, The Settlers is also a port.
The camera on Rayman 2 is exactly the same as it was in the original game. That's partially what I meant when I wrote that Gameloft's ports can be faithful to a fault. It would have been great if they had updated the games somewhat -- we now know where to put the camera on a 3D platformer.
I never played Rayman 2, so I wouldn't know. I somehow missed it when it first came out; I really loved the first Rayman and I would love it if they ported that over.
Rayman 2 and Driver were some of the best games in their genres at the time and it's a shame many iPhone users don't know about this The fact that these got ported to the iphones is huge but it doesn't seem like people care. Gameloft will always been known for churning out ports or clones of popular games and people will think less of them for it. While I do agree that Gameloft games aren't very original, I don't 90 percent of the games out on the App store are either. The fact of the matter is that tried and tested games sell well because people are familiar with these style of games.
Earthworm Jim seems to be the only true port with a bit of HD quality IMO. Sadly gameloft butchers games like a cheap piece of steak.
