Looks pretty cool, I love these types of games! The game looks 3D(ish) are you using 3D objects or 2D sprites? Nice job regardless!
Most of the objects in the game are 2D however the ships are 3D models to give depth as they rock back and forward in the sea. Speaking of ships, we'd love to hear the communities' ideas for future real-world ships we can add to the game. Our story allows ship classes from any nation so send us some suggestions!
Do these campaign misaions feature any sort of randomization so if replayed enemy spawns might be a little different?
The first version has 19 levels connected by a voice acted plot with in game events and waves of enemies requiring scripting to help convey this story. However, levels can be replayed with new and upgraded ships providing replayability. We discussed the possibility of randomizing levels for extra replayability and with your interest we have moved that feature to the top of the list for our first update. Which would you prefer, a random level that lasts a set period of time, or an endless survival mode where you must endure random and increasingly difficult waves of enemies?
Endless would probably be the best bet, but you might be able to do something in between. An endless level broken into waves with the player able to make repairs and upgrades in between waves.
That's an awesome idea, thanks LordGek. It would definitely work well with our upgrade system. Do you have any other thoughts/opinions based on the footage you've seen? We're after all the feedback we can get as we finish the game off over the next few weeks
variety is the spice of life as they say, but the bane of programmers. in any case, please don't turn this into a one trick pony. sounds like you have the upgrades, so you have my attention for sure. the more options/upgrades and ship types the merrier. can i buy a dreadnought?
Okay, hmmm. The map might as well be fixed but hopefully enemy spawns will be randomized (ships and planes coming in from random directions as well as ground defenses, like missile silos, just springing up out of nowhere). Each map could, besides the unique geography of the map to maneuver through, have their own distribution of forces. Even if all are possible in each map, one map might tend to rely more on subs while another is weighted more toward air defenses so as to give each Survival map its own unique feel.
Just a quick update: We will soon be releasing our dev diarys that go into detail about the production process and will explain some of the fun game mechanics we'll be introducing in our upcomming game. As for our professional voice actor who has done a fantastic job in helping to convey the immersive story in Battle Group, we can confirm that he has konsiderable kredits in other really great game titles http://www.cartergame.com/
Anything British please, I would really like to see the new aircraft carriers being built for the RN.

Hi, From one developer to another, I absolutely love the concept of the game and am having great fun with it so far! However, is there a reason why the game (esp the ships) look so pixelated?? I played it on the iPad first and couldn't stand the pixelation. So I switched to the iPhone 4. But the pixelation is still there. A very very minor point in an otherwise awesome-sauce game!
HD Gameplay Trailer (iPad 2): Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Note: First 15.Minutes of Gameplay. Note to the Developer: Add an Option to remove that strange Filter. This isn`t a Call of Duty Bombing Mission and i first thought that my iDevice was broken when i did realize that it was the Game. Thanks.
the filter is supposed to look like you're viewing the events though a satellite video uplink. adds a little flavor to the game i think, but you're right, should be an option to disable it. what would make more sense to me is to get rid fo the curved edges on the thing to indicate a CRT tv, unless this is taking place somewhere in the 60/70/80's.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. We've added an option to remove the horizontal raster lines and this will be available in the next update. This update will be out in a little over a week and will include a new survival game mode as well as iCloud support for save games.
