Astro Ranch is neither a story based game nor a puzzle game! It's is a mash up of Farmville, Animal Crossing, Flick Fishing, Harvest Moon and Futurama! Or something like that ;-) It's hard to describe you'll just have to experience it to find out why its so unique and fun to play! Anyway here is the latest version of the icon - polished a few things based on feedback here. Final thoughts before we settle on this design?
The copper/earthy tone of the pitchfork do it for me. They balance the picture/give it 2 diagonal dynamic lines from the top right corner across to the left and the other one along the pitchfork, both crossing in the top right corner, space, pulling you away from the centre of the eyes. Excellent. The more earthy tone as opposed to the blue before ground the farming theme. Give your graphic designer a pat on the back and tell him to go help the programmers now!!!!!!!
I'll add my opinion: I like the latest version of the icon. The "warmer" colour of the pitchfork gives the icon a more "earthy" or "ranch" or "farm" like feel.
Thanks for all your input. Looks like we are going to go with the Spicken and the pitch fork! Look out for that icon appearing on the App Store soon ;-)
