Just ported Astral Towers game from PC to iPad: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/astral-towers/id680563395?ls=1&mt=8 This is a magical card game derived from Astral Tournament and Spectromancer. Unlike these games, Astral Towers is mostly about PvE (single player campaign), not PvP (multiplayer, AI battles). The game was initially made for PC and self-published on its site in 2011, but then it was adopted for BigFishGames (multiplayer removed) and published there. Now it revived on iPad Game interface is slightly redesigned, but game mechanics and balance wasn't changed. Now it's time to gather some gameplay statistics for further balance improvements. Hope someone of you guys can help with this part Gameplay video (from PC version, but it's similar): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHeQCaXvJ7A Any feedback is appreciated!

Edit: Plays very similar to Spectromancer. For those curious about the IAP, here's a picture explaining the differences. I bought the most expensive version and it was only $2.99. Definitely a fun game worth checking out since it doesn't cost you anything to do so. Thank you for your beautiful and informative post Cooler2 Member Sep 10, 2012 9 0 0 #4 Cooler2, Oct 21, 2013 Yes, they're both derived from one source - Astral Tournament. But designed by different people (from the same team), so different ways and styles were chosen. Spectromancer feels like "fast chess", but Astral Towers is more similar to puzzle games - you have to discover the right path to the target. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #5 ojtitus, Oct 21, 2013 Last edited: Oct 21, 2013 If you quote my post you can see the code needed to make such posts. And yeah there is a definite difference in gameplay between this and Spectromancer, I really like them both. One more question, with the IAP I bought does it include the normal campaign from the other IAP or is it only the hard campaign? Cooler2 Member Sep 10, 2012 9 0 0 #6 Cooler2, Oct 21, 2013 Only the hard. That's why I'm curious if it's OK or should I remake this in a different way to avoid confusion. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #7 ojtitus, Oct 21, 2013 Last edited: Oct 22, 2013 I would do it to avoid confusion. Thanks. Edit: It would also be nice to be able to replay scenarios after you beat them. The single player AI Archmage option did not unlock until I also purchased the normal pass IAP, you might want to fix that also or you are going to have some angry people. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #8 strivemind, Oct 22, 2013 Last edited: Oct 22, 2013 So currently you have to purchase both IAP to unlock everything? Enjoying the free version. Played a lot of Spectromancer on my iPad, and Astral Towers changes things up enough to keep things interesting. First-glance differences between this and Spectromancer are: - Units deal damage at either melee or ranged distances, allowing you to attack from either - First or Second lines of defense. The entire first line must be destroyed before attacking the second. - Your home tower, basically your HP, is a unit on the second line. - You can upgrade your tower to a specific element, granting you two additional choices in that element. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #9 ojtitus, Oct 22, 2013 Yeah, you need to purchase two IAP to unlock everything in the game. Cooler2 Member Sep 10, 2012 9 0 0 #10 Cooler2, Oct 22, 2013 Ahh, yes! Actually, Archmage is unlocked, but the lock icon is still displayed. I'll fix this. And I'll add the ability to replay completed missions. ojtitus Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2010 3,228 5 38 Male Canton, Ohio #11 ojtitus, Oct 22, 2013 Awesome, thanks for listening, hopefully you get some more attention here. nenastya Well-Known Member Dec 2, 2014 65 0 6 Female Russia #12 nenastya, Aug 23, 2015 The game is awesome but I was so disappointed when discovered that there were no people at all in multiplayer it's unpoplular and that's a pity.
