Yeah well the second focused more on the combat. :/ Which I guess you could argue Assassin's Creed is about, but going in one line just bored me (and many others judging by this thread). Roaming around to find other items, fighting multiple people surrounding you was fun.
Yeah, Assassin's Creed 2 got pretty boring for me also. And the framerate was poor. I love the aerobatics in AC: Altairs Chronicles. And it was a very long game too. I've actually just started the campaign again now that the graphics have been updated for the iPhone 4
The first one had awkward platforming, boring combat, silly mini-games, and terrible voice acting. It was also ridiculously easy, except where for all the cheap platforming deaths. The second one had great variety of missions, excellent graphics and animation, fairly deep combat, a well developed stealth system, near-perfect controls, and some of the best platforming of any action game in the App Store (people who complained about blind drops in the game were simply not paying attention to the environmental cues, IMO). It had it's problems, of course: the voice acting was still mediocre, and using time to score a stealth mission seems pretty darn unfair. But, all in all, it played like a robust game, not something that was squished into a portable platform. I'm not one to say a 3D AC:Brotherhood couldn't work -- in fact, I would love to see one using the Splinter Cell engine (with a serious update to the stealth mechanics). But the idea that AC1 has anything on AC2 besides an additional dimension has always struck me as perverse. I understand, of course, that this is not a popular opinion around here. Until an official announcement is made, I vote that this thread gets moved to the Game Discussion section.
Image is faked. Its just a reversed image of the cut out from the console versions box art with good photoshop or image editing tools. The font they used was trajan.
I agree 100%, but is it working for you on iOS4? because it is currently broken for me, which unfortunately makes Gameloft's effort the only one playable.
Same for me. I sent a message to Ubisoft support so hopefully we'll have some news soon about an update. In the meantime, I concede the point that currently AC1 is better than AC2.
I don't know, but judging from previous installments of the series there has always been an iDevice release a little while after the console version and holiday 2010 would be a perfect time to do it.
This "game" has less of a chance of actually existing then most of the game's featured in Pocket Gamer's Rumour Mine. In other words, this game has no chance of actually existing. The thread was fake and I can't even comprehend why it hasn't been locked.
