Graphics suck. Cmon Gameloft there's are like a 100 thing you can add with OpenGL 2.0 and shaded cores. The cars look great, but the environments look like ass.
Gameloft is not going to leave old-tech behind. No matter how much you want them to do it, they are not going to do it. Gameloft is in the business of making as much money as they possibly can. Gameloft games will continue to run on all generations of all devices so that every single person who owns an iDevice, no matter how old their device is, has the opportunity to purchase their games. This is how Gameloft optimizes their sales. By not excluding anyone. The things you are asking for would require Gameloft to end their support of older devices. You might want that to happen, granted, but trust me. It's never going to happen. Ever. By the way, a third game has emerged, which fits Gameloft's release M.O. There is a decent chance that Asphalt 6, Dungeon Hunter 2 and NOVA 2 will release close to each other. One release a week for three straight weeks.
I don't see how you can say the environments look bad. From the video, the environments look the most varied, most colourful, most detailed enviroments I've ever seen on an iDevice racing game. Also I read on Touchgen that the video might've been taken on an older device and therefore the graphics don't look as good as the screenshots.

Whoa never mind then. The video definitely did not look this good. Still Asphalt 5 screenshots looked nothing like the actual game, and there's a good chance they might post edited screenshots again.
These Asphalt games are generally too arcady for me, which is saying something, because I prefer arcade racers over sim racers. I'm definitely a Burnout, Midnight Club and Need For Speed guy over Forza and Gran Turismo. But Asphalt is generally over-the-top arcady. Like Cruisin' the USA-type arcady. It doesn't feel like Burnout at all. Burnout feels at least semi-grounded in some minor semblance of reality, in terms of physics and handling and weight of cars and things of that nature. Asphalt is total ridiculousness. I wish they would clone Burnout, but anyone who would refer to previous Asphalt games as Burnout clones must not have played too much Burnout. Asphalt is one of the few Gameloft franchises that really isn't a clone of anything. Influenced by other stuff, perhaps, but nowhere near a clone. Pocket Gamer says this game is due out in December. As I said before, I bet NOVA 2 and Dungeon Hunter 2 are also due out in December.
Yeah the car motion in Asphalt is ludicrous and the dumb background voice whenever you find boost is really annoying. they need to combine GT: Racing's physics engine with Ridge Racer's graphics and NFS's cars to create an ultimate game.
Hope the game graphics will be improved, cause it still looks blocky all around but enterior view from the outside is pretty good

NOVA 2 is also going to be released in December, according to Pocket Gamer: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/NOVA+2/news.asp?c=25374 And it wouldn't surprise me if Dungeon Hunter 2 is also released in December. Gameloft typically releases 2 or 3 games closely together in a 3 - 4 week period.
Shadow Guardian is also due out in December! I loved the Uncharted series and can't wait for this clone (I personally don't care if it's a clone or not)!
WoW! All I can say is what a month December will be. I mean look at all the games coming out or possibly coming out in december: Aralon sword and shadow Nova 2 Dungeon Hunter 2 Infinity Blade Shadow Guardian Angry Birds Christmas Dungeon Defenders Battleheart Man, I gotta save up.
Its still slated for November release but by the looks of it that might come out in December too. So yeah, add that to the list.
