The description in the App Store does include touch 4 but it would be nice to have a confirmation on how it runs I have a touch 4g but I don't have this game so I can't tell ya!
Yuppers, in this case, I should have written not so early adopters, or maybe kind of early adopters haha. Yeah, in the old days, there were a lot of early adopter sales, and I was a true early adopter buying everything on day one. This game though did have an early adopter sale for a day, and I am thankful for it, I like developers that reward early adopters like Cave co and this dev. So I did buy it on day one. So, you are right, but this does help the people that did not have a compass and live in Korea, those people couldn't get in on the sale before. So they may be able to now. Just wonder how long this sale is for, or if it will stay permanently at 99 cents. But anyway, crazy good game! You are right, this developer has been kind to us early adopters that bought it on day one, and I am thankful for that!!! They will always have my support!
Some people in the main thread said that the game run really smooth. Oh, wait... You don't have this game? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?
Um, there's the free version... it would be pretty easy to try it out and frankly easy for anyone wondering how well it'll run on their device. I played a lot of the game this weekend on my iPhone4S and had some good fun with it. It's definitely worth $0.99 and really worth more than that.
Yeah, there are some games that I picked up for 99 cents that are arcade quality games. Games like Nova 3, Wimp Hd, Asphalt 7, Virtua Tennis, and Arc Squadron. All of these games for a buck, wow, makes you really appreciate ios and the awesome deals you can get when sales hit. This game is great! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?
Just DL the lite version just now and put it through its paces and it works fantastic on my touch 4g Thanks for the advice and I'm getting this immediately!!!!!
It's also great that this runs on the touch 4g because it can be an issue with some games Thanks Devs for that!
I wonder - maybe no one bought it at $5. I wonder if they even got a single sale at that price. Or maybe they never really intended to sell it for $5 in the first place, but that was just a way to make people feel like they were getting it "on sale" for $1? Either way, great game and worth buying.
I think launching at a dollar and then going up to $5 is a recipe for disaster. I snagged it at a buck (no idea why I didn't buy it when it first dropped) but knowing it went for a dollar at one point (versus, say, $2-3) is a huge red flag, sadly. I love what the developers had to say (and is why I did buy it) as well as Gabrien endorsing a game with consumable IAP... Now the big question is whether I'll actually ever play it =\
Yeah, that says alot I suppose. Doesn't happen all that much I suppose. And if any of you like it, there is still one day to vote in Toucharcade's game of the week in the general gaming section! Make your vote count today! http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=164002&page=8
Everyone should buy this game. I have played for about 8-10 hours and have unlocked the most expensive ship, with no need to use IAP and minimal grinding. This game is perfectly suited to a touchscreen with excellent controls, although increased sensitivity would make a little difference. Graphics are top notch plus lots of weapons and customisation available. Would love a survival mode for combat, and would happily pay for this as IAP. Grab now although it might feel like stealing
Yes.. I'm also one of those guys who will usually wait for a sale before buying a game, any game.. especially since there's a tool where we can easily see what is the lowest price we can get for a game by looking at its price history. I guess it's just normal for some people to want to wait for a 'best' deal before buying. For example, there's even a game that instead of having a sale keep increasing its price to reward early adopters. That is good to keep early adopters happy, but will shut off new buyers like me, 1 year after it is first released, who are unsure of the game to buy. In the end, after tracking it and realizing there won't be a sale for that game, I simply remove it from my wish-list and forget it ever existed. There's just so many great games on the platform, and for the same price of that one game I could get more games which are of equal or higher quality, IMO. The exception is if it's a game I've been waiting for, or I really like, then I will insta-buy the game whenever it's available to me regardless of the price As for this game, I missed the day-1 sale, and since it's now go back on sale (and after reading all the good words about it here) I've snagged it without hesitation. Yay!
I believe I posted similar thoughts. A price increase of that magnitude can halt a game's momentum (if it has any) in it's tracks. Better, IMO to slowly stagger price increases. Or release it at a higher price and cap the increase lower. Say, 1.99 intro sale for several days, then rais it to 3.99. IMO, 4.99 is a poor choice of a price point because, to many people, 5 dollars is where pocket change turns into real money.
Yep I've been playing on iPod touch 4 since the update, it runs fine,'cept for the odd crash, iOS 5.1.1
I don't wait for sales. What I DO wait for, especially nowadays, is some sign that a developer who isn't on my ever shrinking "trusted list" won't pull a punk move later. I.E. update a game with adds; make inoffensive iaps neccesary by changing the game structure (hello Grabatron); doesn't pull a release from the store; doesn't change the name of the game and re-release it; etc. At this point, I trust almost no developers/publishers. Besides, I have an ENORMOUS backlog to get through and items on my wishlist dating back past 2011. So I'm not exactly in a rush. At this pont, if a dev doesn't have a postive track record going back to 2010, I'm waiting a bit. Even then it doesn't always pan out; I had a lot of fun with the original Samurai, didn't think I had to worry too much about Dead Trigger. But even talented, established devs seem to cash out frequently nowadays.
Just got update with icloud support and greater sensitivity on controls. A great game!!! Highly highly highly recommended! And since you do a lot of swiping, get a stylus, read the link below. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=167721&page=2
$0.99 is a steal for this game. I have no regrets at all. The dev even responded to all the feedback on the main forum and tweaked the controls and stuff to allow even higher sensitivity as an option. If it didn't mention having IAP, I never would even know it was in the game since you aren't slapped in the face with it at every turn. I have my own view on price point. Tons of sales may boost the game actually selling, but it also drives folks into the waiting game when they discover your great app. I know if I see an app that has been $0.99 in the past or has been free a couple times... I may just sit on it and wait. I have hundreds of games to play. Unless it's a known property like Jet Set Radio or next week GTA:VC... it's going to be hard to pry $5 out of me. $1... a lot easier if the dev seems like a good bet. $3, if I'm really hungry for the game is certainly possible. The AppStore has spoiled the heck out of me as a gamer.
