    this is great news!!!

5 years ago I would not have thought that I'd be getting my RPG fix from a tiny pocket device instead of the PC... but games like The Quest, Ravensword, Across Age, as well as these up and comers have me completely satiated and not even looking at new PC/Console titles.

Uhm, I beleeve CM games and galoobeth games signed their contract yesterday, so most likely not alot of work has been done yet with changing the graphics.

maybe you should have a look at the beta testers group, galoobeth said that there most likely won't be any changes with who beta tests the game.

This game should be build exclusively for 3gs and better hardwares. This will help it to standout in competition and hey there will be a hell lot of 3gs, iPhone 4g, iPod 3g and ipads out there by the time this game is released.

What's going to be really impressive with this game are the things you won't be able to see in screenshots or footage: a fully-featured RPG system with enough complexity to satisfy a hardcore gamer, but accessible enough for other folks as well; a good central story with many interesting side-quests; a truly open world with few limitations to player behavior and interaction; a combat system that manages to both be exciting and sophisticated; tons of character customization; a world that's both big and well-populated. The really awesome thing is that galoobeth has already done 90% of that work: that's the game we've been beta testing. Crescent Moon's contribution will surely make Aralon much more immersive (which is very important), but they're working to develop the surface of the game, not the core.

I'm so so glad that this partnership came together.

I'd like to point out - from a graphics stand point - this is no easy feat.
Its going to be like building the pyramids in some respects to do the graphics design for the entire world and redo all the menus, icons, characters, loot, etc
But we are certainly up for the challenge.

Didn't mean to take away anything from CM's contribution, of course, or to suggest that it's all easy-going from now on. Just didn't want galoobeth's effort to get lost in the mix.

Yes, those guys actually did build the pyramids, at least in my head.

Well a lot of us had voiced issues with polish and stuff, nice to see we didn't go unheard and I'm sure CM will do a solid job with improving on what you've already got. Are the changes mainly going to be with appearance, or are there going to be any game system changes? Because I had a few questions about gameplay, but I'm not sure if I may as well wait for a few months since the game's going back into development.

    Don't I know it . . .

I'm kidding really, working on this game has been the most fun programming gig ever.

Considering that Crescent Moon signed a contract to overhaul Aralon this week, what are the images in the article of, models of the actual game world? Those images look amazing, especially for an iPhone game. I hope those are screens of what the game may look like.

I don't know if this was being considered as an addition, but voice acting and story refinements to get rid of cliches (if there are any) and create a compelling story (if it isn't already there, I haven't played Aralon) will go a long way. Be the first developers to pioneer premium price points with a very polished, console-like experience. I would pay $30 for a game of that quality. Just don't lower the price for the first three months, early buyers would get really annoyed if the price drops. Aralon could be a good game to experiment with investing a lot more into than the average iPhone game, and charging much more than the typical iPhone game.

Its concept art by me, and hopefully it inspires Mark to make great things.

Yeah, but screenshots and footage are always good. It does sound quite phenomenal for the iDevice though, I must admit. I'll have high expectations for this and I'm sure many people do, hopefully it'll meet them.

It's fantastic that the partnership came together as well.
