I finally bit the bullet and bought myself an iPod Touch (mainly for games). Very excited about it! A good compliment to my Android phone. One thing that puzzles me is Apple's refund policy. The Android store allows for no-questions asked 24 hour refunds. I really wish that was available for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Boo.

I guess this is more of a comment than a question and I am also sure it has been discussed before. Just seeing if there are any thoughts on the issue or things I might have missed. I am late in coming to the iPod Touch!!!!

Look forward to being active here.

If that's true about the Android, that's pretty cool - who needs a lite version of a game if you can try anything for 24 hours?

I've reported two "purchased accidentally" reports to Apple, and gotten my money back both times. A side effect is that I've still got copies of the apps, even through I don't "own" them anymore... Wonder if that is true on the Android (if they dissapear and/or won't run if you 'return' them.)

You can only get a refund if you uninstall the app within 24 hours. I know of no way to circumvent that. Of course there are other methods of piracy, but your vanilla appstore user must give up the app. This only works one time. Buy the app again and it's yours for life.

How do you report an accidental buy? If you get to keep your game anyways that sounds like an interesting loop hole.

iTunes -> your account -> find the item on an invoice -> press the "Report A Problem" button -> explain your problem to Apple.

Then wait a few days and see what happens.

I'm not sure if this can be applied to DLC as I've never purchased any.

If it almost always works, this is a sort of way to get paid apps for free wouldn't it? I'm curious to see how that affects devs or apple, where's that money go, does apple pay it?

One thing's for sure, apple offers unrivaled costomer service in my oppinion, they swapped my old ipod out with a brand new one just cause it had 1 dead pixel! Now this? That's awsome compaired to all the crap refund policies out there (Gamestop comes to mind...)

It shows "Report a Problem" and once I click it, it just returns back to the top of the page...

From what I understand, the devs get hosed when you do this (of course Apple is not going to take any loss.)

I suspect they're not going to let you do this many times.

Also: you don't "own" the app anymore after being refunded, so don't lose that ipa file!

    1) Open iTunes
    2) Log in if you haven't done so
    3) Click on Store -> View My Account (or your account name in the upper-right hand corner) and enter your ID/Password
    4) Click the Purchase History button
    5) Locate the invoice with the app you need a refund for
    6) Click the Report A Problem button
    7) Click the Report A Problem link next to the app you need a refund for
    8) Follow the directions

If that doesn't help, nothing will. ;)
