      i have found the app store redeem button on 3.0.1 for iphone its at the bottom of the new section screen

      Yes, this has been known already. It's also located at the bottom of the new releases in the on-board iTunes app as well.

      Dunno why they put them in such obscure places, though.

      on a side note, it's been 12-14 hours since any new apps have hit the app store...what's up with that?

      Probably doing a system upgrade in advance of the Sep 7 press event.

      His Steveness would be most displeased if the App Store wasn't ready. :)
