I have a feeling the reviewers are getting paid per review, and are getting rejection happy.

Watch your Keywords! Nothing gets passed the reviewers anymore!

I just had to resubmit everything (4 items) I had in review with iTunes. I asked for a break from the person who sent me the rejection notice. I told the person I really need the updates since they are bug related. Let me see if my begging will get my stuff approved in under 30 days.

The real question is do you pull the plug on a submission that has unacceptable keywords or do you wait for the reviewer to tell you to fix the problem?

My guess would be to pull the plug and resubmit it will save you time! We have two additional games with the same Keyword issues we resubmitted them voluntarily.

Probably wise. I am getting no luck in convincing them to expedite our games after keyword rejection.

ReBouncer took 10 days for Apple to approve. I didn't think that was bad considering they get nearly 9,000 apps per week to review. But then again this is only my first app submitted, so I don't know if there's a norm.

*amen* - we got rejected because of the word "facebook"; still waiting.

they could have just removed the keyword and accepted the binary - but, you have to submit a binary (even if it is unchanged again) - our game will be free, and it still has this 1+ month acceptance delay. crazy.

About 15 days for the last update to Air Master 3D & its lite version. Submitted around the 25th of August, I think.

Thanks for that link, that's really interesting and suggests that Apple is managing to cut the time down from submission to acceptance which is good...

However why do I "feel" like the reverse is true and it's actually taking longer and longer? Lots of you developers seem to suggest it takes longer here and while I accept that developers who get fast acceptance are less likely to post, it still seems like an uneven process.

Going back a while Pocket God used to be able to do updates on a weekly basis, that's completely impossible now. Uniwar update which I'm waiting for is up to about 20 days now, etc, etc.

They need to improve this system or employ more people. I'd be extremely sad if this drove any developers away from the platform as it's the App Store and your work which makes the iPhone / iPod Touch so great. Yet I can understand that while I understand the delays, many don't and those bad reviews due to a bug you cannot fix are harmful to your business.

Lets hope they sort this soonish and cut the times down. I'm hopeful Apple will do something about this in the short to mid term.

    Bongo Fever

Hey guys here are our latest apple store timings,

Exactly 28 days in review for Bongo Fever. It was rejected for problems with keywords. We will have to see how quickly the re-review happens.

The average is 10-14 days - we have never had anything reviewed that quickly. Taxi Jam took three and a half weeks before we heard anything back from Apple.

We had one update to Buzz Cut that was rejected - we then re-submitted exactly the same binary - and it was acccepted - weird stuff!

I think the answer is you just have to sit tight and let Apple do their thing, it's frustrating, it would be good to get some really solid metrics on this, as it would hep for planning releases.

    Cheers,

There is no way that chart can be correct. Like fastlane said... back in March, April, May, developers were able to put out a new game or update in 3 to 7 days. Think Pocket God, Flight Control, Etc. Then in August it had gone to 14 days for several apps. By late August/September the wait from most developers on here is a month.

What was the nature of the initial Buzz Cut rejection?

    Update

    Hi

Apple said the options screen showed an option to turn on/off vibration on iphones/ipods that don't support vibration.

We had already re-submitted an update with a case statement to disable this function on non-vibrating devices when we noticed it ourselves.

We are still not quite sure if they might have reviewed the previous version again.

Haha, it took me like 4 weeks, but I think that is because I was REJECTED the first time around!

TIP: Nooo cuss words, adult content, etc! Keep it PG-13, just in case!

In all seriousness, does Apple reject an app due to featuring its products?

I have an option to turn off certain features so that the game will run on a Touch 1G.

This is represented by two images - one of an ipod touch, the other of an iphone.

Should I take these out, or is Apple ok with this?

    Thanks for the help,

    QS :)

Ipod images are not allowed to use (Apple copyright)...

btw: my lite version is still in review, Apple sent me an email stating unexpected delays.... strange
