It took more than a year for the PS3 to start getting any quantity of high quality games on a regular basis.
And there are a lot of possibilities with the iPad regarding what developers could do with the interface, and I think a lot of them are still exploring those possibilities and working to create games that will utilize them. Give it time, and I bet we'll start seeing some really creative and inventive apps show up.

And to AnupTA, regarding srategy games, Battle for Wesnoth is a great game that has a lot of advantages on the iPad compared to the iPod/Phone. I agree that strategy games and games with large play spaces (think board games, too) will be a great fit for the iPad.

Good things will be ahead, as long as it keeps selling.

Ok so its now exactly a month on and the iPad has been released internationally in many countries, with apparently 2 million sold.

Now, I wasn't expecting there to be reams of new AAA titles already, but I was expecting more announcements than there have been.. IPad gaming, considering the product has launched into an already massive app store gaming market, is, IMO, off to a very slow start...

The guys over at PocketGamer have said the same, it's pretty inexplicable really, you would have thout more developers would have at least been hyping up future titles or declaring some intent - so far what do we have outside of the launch line up? Some good adventures lwike Broken Sword, yes, and them promise of Chaos Rings down the line, but very little else...
