It looks like my iPod Touch is starting to lose its charge holding power, so I've been looking into it. I thought I remember reading that when you turn in your iPod Touch to Apple for a battery replacement, you got back a different iPod Touch. Has anyone done it and could comment on this? One of the reasons is my buttons are somewhat messed up, I have to press harder than usual (at least compared to my friends and store display). It works, but I figured if I'm getting back a different iPod, 2 birds with one stone (a pricey stone).
Getting back a new iPod... eh, doesn't seem like Apple to me, unless they're making them dirt cheap and replacing the battery would cost more time and effort than just sending a new one. Doesn't seem like a likely case, though. Try it out, not much you can lose.
There's a bunch of different places that will do the swap for you online for a couple bucks more than the cost of a battery plus shipping both ways (much cheaper than Apple). Look around on Google.
I didn't mean new, I meant like swap it out with the refurbished iPods or other iPods brought in for battery replacment (with a new battery installed).
