I'd count the games I get free separately from the ones I buy but I've bought what must be close to if not over 1000apps as I checked early last year and it was close to 600 (I spend far to much in the App Store)
^ Yep, it certainly is complicated, and we all have quirks and ways we justify our habits. Personally, I don't keep track of what I paid for and if it goes on sale or free later, that would drive me crazy. I do notice it occasionally though. I mainly buy because I know the developers deserve support, and the industry would collapse if everyone worked it the way I'm tempted to, which is to never pay but always wait for freebies. I do give special emphasis to trying to play the games I know I paid for, as I have a keen desire to "get my money's worth"; but in reality, I have spent 95% of my gaming time on just a handful of titles (mainly Kingdom Rush) and my "play someday when I'm in the mood for that genre" pile keeps growing and growing. I think I sometimes buy hoping that particular title is one that can hit on all cylinders and suck me in completely, letting me move on from KR. But lately, nothing makes it past a day or so before I'm back to old habits.
Wow, my backlog is only 15-20; but console and pc titles are at least three times that. I blame PC mmos!
That is par on course for a gamer. I still have a shelf full of unopened XBox 360, DS and PSP games. Got to collect them all... Does that ever happen to Pokemon, like after Ash catches them, then forgets all about them and leaves them in their pokeballs for eternity?
yeah sometimes you can collect more then you play. i remember the c=64, amiga, snes/gen days with 1,000's of games but mostly played the ones i bought. others were just to play test and file away. i think it was something you do when your younger, as you get older there are more things to keep you busy; (wife, kids, family, friends, work, hobbies, house projects). with ios apps i usually try to wait a year before buying (because many go free/xmas sales). unless its something i really want or like here I bought 1 for $1 and got 3 others using GE free. i try to save ge points for just the dollar day games I keep track of what i bought from itunes emails, i put email in a subfolder along with any GE paid apps i got. also try to keep a list of paid stuff(or popular frees) i need to play that i got free. so i got a backlog list of 50+ games or more. Still have over $200 credit i got in free itunes gift cards that i have nothing to spend on
Same here. And I usually spend 95% of my time on what most would consider to be crap games. I've never launched Bastion, but I've played Homerun Baseball 2 to death
Release more games. I have run out of Hunted Cow games and expansions to buy. Which game is coming next?
