The next update so far: - Implemented: Limited maximum attack range for the Ci'Tan Energy Beings. Limited maximum age (and damage) for later generations of this little teasers depending on difficulty setting. - Implemented: Pause mode: now you can look around and give orders while the game is paused. - Implemented: Added an overview screen for all mission layers of a categories. - Implemented: The scan range of the Research Ship is not longer random. So scanning deepspace should take less time. - In work: A long range pipeline that can be connected only to one normal pipeline and to one other long range pipeline. The maximum range from long range pipeline to long range pipeline is much bigger. So you can build 'defence islands' and have not to protect the whole pipeline line from solar system to solar system. Please tell me what you think about this 'Long Range Pipelines'. I hope the update is ready for submission to the AppStore in early January. Then it will take 4-7 days untill Apple validates the App. If there are no issues I think it will be released about the late second or the third week of January. To the diplomacy thingy: This will take some time for planning/implementing and will come probably later with a big update. But at first I want to work on your more important requests. Happy new year to you all, Stefan
I truly think it is excellent that you guys are active on the boards here. Kudos. VERY excited for the update! Can't wait to get my hands on it. Long range pipelines sound fun! More expensive than their little brother I would safely assume. I really really like this game, a lot, and knowing that you are planning on improving not only the current mechanics, but adding even more depth is amazing. I never knew a mobile game could grab me like this one has. It really is in a genre of its own. Thank you for making it. I would love to give constructive feedback and ideas. I will share below: - First, the game is fun as hell. I cannot say enough how much I love it. Gameplay ideas - I am strongly against having a save function outside of how it already saves. The best strategy games ever made had permadeath. FTL is a recent one that comes to mind. Not being able to save makes every move count and increases replay ability 100x over. Maybe a single save slot for the easy difficulty levels. - alerts for any attacks on your ships and pipelines. Perhaps maybe a setting for non military ships, that tells them to turn tail and run to the nearest home base if a threat approaches. - automation for rebuilding pipeline and destroyed infrastructure would make that element of the game much more fun (I imagine destroyed infrastructure being a ghost image and the ability to select those ghosts icons and select "rebuild" or something along those lines) - maybe even some ancient artifacts to find before your rivals? Or some other exploration treasures to find. Stockpiles of resources maybe? - have you though about making the research station how you unlock the other ships/stations? Like having to research lasers and then laser ships and laser turrets become available? Maybe those long range pipelines need to be researched before you get them? Scenario ideas: - an invasion defense game. Even in your description of the game you point out I has some tower defense flavor. Leverage that! I think a "holy hell we know waves of invasion forces are coming, defend yourself" could be a lot of fun - conquest type game. There are X number of systems and Y number of other species. Exterminate all of them. That of course will not be easy since they will defend themselves. - I think a 'civilization' type of win structure could work really well! Technology victory, conquest victory, economic victory, diplomacy victory, build the ark and fly away victory (perhaps you build the pieces instead of find them) all possible in the same scenario and in real time. Wow, that would be fun. Got a little carried away, so I will end this post here.
How do you find the black hole? I've built the ark ship and run around the entire map and couldnt find it
It is a swerly thing the looks like a picture of a galaxy. You will know it because If you get too close with other ships, it sucks them in and they are lost. I have always found it by the time I have the ark. I'll have to play again and pay attention to when it appears.
Use the research ship to find the black hole like finding asteroids or use increase galactic sight in the research center.
We plan with one of the next updates that the player can buy an extra in the market place which reveals the black hole. At this time of the game the player should have sufficient GEOs so this is NOT considered as a IAP. We are also thinking about another option for finding the black hole...
Update 1.0.3 Hi, the Update is finished so far. Some details: - Limited maximum attack range for the Ci'Tan Energy Beings. Limited maximum age (and damage) for later generations of this little teasers depending on difficulty setting. - Pause mode: now you can look around and give orders while the game is paused. - Added an overview screen for all mission layers of a categories. - The scan range of the Research Ship is not longer random. So scanning deepspace should take less time. - Added a long range pipeline that can be connected only to one normal pipeline and to one other long range pipeline. The maximum range from long range pipeline to long range pipeline is unlimited. - Threat detection system. Markers show fights in solar systems. - Manual weapon targeting should work now. Even if the gun is disabled. ---- The update is submitted today but the validation may take up to a week. Best wishes, Stefan
Compared to the other 4X Space Games on the App Store it is reasonably priced. I've played this game for more than 10 hours and I think for $4.99 it is worth buying.
Very excited for the new update. Going to be trying my hand at hard difficultly as soon as it is live. I suppose expensive is a relative to each person. This has been the game I have enjoyed the most of all my iPad games in the last year. Hell, I have spent more time on this game than my PS4 (which is slightly depressing now that I think of it) I wish I could find more RTS games on IPad with the quality of this one. I would buy it again. On the other hand, I have dropped $8 bucks on a iOS game that everyone was raving about, and had it be not my taste. That is the worst.
Alien Tribe 2 has been on the Hot New Games section of Touch Arcade several times (it's there again), I hope someone reviews it. This doesn't have mainstream appeal but those that enjoy this type of game should know about it.
I haven't seen any review of the Alien Tribe 2 so far which is a shame because a we got so many great responses from the users all around the world so far. A new version will be out next week and we have a lot of great ideas for the next updates. This game was always planned as game which gets better and better which each update and we know it is a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll! So please spread the word about Alien Tribe 2.
Saw the $1 sale and love Weird Worlds, so I read the thread, liked what I saw and bought it. Cannot play until tonight though. A question I haven't seen answered is how much randomization there is between gameplays.
Hi, to answer the question about the randomizations. Some examples: - Positions of solar systems and black holes are random. - Asteroids are random gerated. - Count and order of the planets in each system are random generated except the home planet 'Kamolon'. (The home solar system has always 5 planets with update 1.1.) - The 'Ci'Tan' Energy Beings: Start positons are random but additional Ci'Tans will appear at the black holes. Every generation of this teasers grows a bit larger and more dangerous. But now there is a maximum grows limit set for every difficulty setting. I think this are the most remarkable randomizations. Have fun, Stefan
I just known about this game because of the sale, and I have to say that I really like it! How is that is not reviewed anywhere yet? The things that I like the most are the pace of the game, really appropiate for a tablet. I like very much too the quests that you can achieve every match, because its a way to know "how to do next" and guide the player without overwhelming him or giving the player mandatory paths to win the game. The UI is really well done with the lower bar is really easy give orders to units. As far as I played, totally worth it and a steal for a dollar. I hope a lot of people buy it and see in the future an Alien Tribe 3 in my ipad.
I really like the game, too. Is there a way to connect the Research Station to the resources? Or would I need to bring everything using a freighter?
I asked this in the price drop board, but I don't think anyone answered. How "twitchy" is this game? What I mean is, do you have time to actually think about your moves in the game, or are you always responding to some threat that you have to take immediate action to mitigate? I'm asking because I don't know, for the life of me, why anyone would make a real time 4x game. I know there are more and that they are somewhat popular, but to me, 4x games should be turn based. So would this game be at all enjoyable to someone that is totally turned off to the fact that it is real time?
It is definetely NOT a fast paced game, but you have to react soon when troubles appear. 4X games with real time could be good too, like Sins of a Solar Empire.
