I'm sure you all remember this bad a** game from the PS1! FF7 was amazing and still the best game every made.
Would easely pay 50 bucks for a decent port of it. One of my all time top 3 games. A shame that we most likely never will see a port. =(
I'm surprised at how many people have played Clock Tower around here... it'd be really nice to have an actually scary game on the iDevice though. Of all the awesome horror games I've played, none were really scary. I beat Resident Evil Degeneration and am on level 7 of Resident Evil 4 and enjoyed/am enjoying them alot, but there's nothing scary about them. It's definetly a possibility as alot of old games are getting ported, some even updates. I really don't know if you could update the original Clock Tower without ruining it. The sound and graphics were part of what made the game.
I am pretty convinced that the thing with Clock Tower was the fact that you only had one life, was constantly hunted by that creepy monster, had nothing to defend yourself with, and it was really hard. That in combination with the music (or the lack of music) and SFX kept you on your toes ALL THE TIME. God it was a creepy game.
im currently doing another run through of this game. i still own the original copy, and the discs are barely scratched
Thanks for that but I think at least some of the credit should go to Sean Cooper who coded the all of the actual gameplay on the original. He has just released BoxHead Zombie wars in the app store. I did some level design on the original and the Graphics tech on both games. Syndicate Wars tech was based on the stuff I did for Magic Carpet, a game that is a rather more obvious influence on my current iPhone project.
How about the games Bureau 13, shadowrun for the snes, dungeons and dragons, altered beast, breath of fire, robocop, Abuse, bionic commando?
I would love Bureau 13 along with Darkseed even though they are both very short. in fact MI-SE and BaSS just showed us that these type of games can be very good and work very well on the i-platform.
OK, you out-olded me I didn't even see a computer (a commodore Pet) until autumn 1980. I was trying to write games almost immediately but in 1980 I was still scratching my head trying to figure out what sort of programming voodoo was needed to get the my 'bullet' and my single 'space invader' to actually move at the same time.
I took a playtesting job at Avalon Hill during the break (Grad School) in Dec. 1979. Conflict 2500 was my first game and it got published. I could kick myself for not porting the 3rd title I did for AH to the iPhone the day the SDK shipped:
I think Darklands would be a perfect fit for the iphone... Is anyone working on a port of this or atleast a similar game?
Baldur's Gate and Diablo 1 would be awesome! As acidshaman said, Descent would be a good match for the iphone too. And someone mentioned 7th Guest - that would be fun to see again. Marathon could be cool, but controls would have to be done right - could get complicated since some weapons had a 2nd trigger - I think they'd have to use the accelerometer for turning... Myth (another Bungie game) would be cool! As would Fallout!
I would love to see - Any of the Lost Vikings games - Virtual Bart (mainly for the mini game where you throw tomatoes/eggs at everyone)
