I have a question about the scoring... How come most of the medals don't have the gold border. Is that because you used the hints or what?
Yeah I used hints. If you don't use any hints for every item in that category then you will get a gold background.
I was fairly confident in being in the top 3, but now I'm not even bothering. It's an interesting game, but it hasn't been implemented as well as it could be. So far I've gotten 200+ all done without clues or hints, but now the app is contantly crashing on me, so much so that it's impossible to play. I've turned off wifi, restarted my iPod and iPad, still no help. The dev's still done a great job, just a few edges that need smoothing I would've loved that $20 iTunes card, but oh well. Well, here is my entry - took a while, but actually had fun doing it. I'm not sure if I would even have the staying power to do the entire alphabet, particularly when I am sure that some letters have more than 1,000 objects... Took me a little while to catch on, and if I was going to do it again, I would have done things much differently in order to score gold in a number of categories - I did not really approach it from that aspect. But, great idea for a contest.
More info on Scoring ... To score a perfect gold : no clues but you can use the wild stars (green) and the free cryptic clues To score a silver Gold : you can use the first hint and you can use the jigsaw jumble but don't get any of the letters wrong other wise .... You score a bronze Gold : by using the jigsaw jumble and getting the extra help with the jigsaw pieces being relieved with images on them to help you spell the word. Other nifty things.... you can go into the coin description and you have an option there to reset just that class to try and improve your score all this stuff is in the tutorial if you need a recap.
The cryptic clues and wild stars combined create the crossword style element to the game. There aren't that many wild stars anyway unless you hord them across all letters. It does say they are free in the tutorial
I stopped playing this game but all I can think about are A words! I was dreaming last night about them too trying to figure out the ones I missed! lol Then I started dreaming about finding B words...guess my brain wants me to buy letter B haha

Oh wow, yeah I didn't know I could use the green stars either (and still get perfect gold) and I saw the tutorial. I have over 600 green stars racked up right now
If you can reset them, doesn't that make it pretty easy (although time consuming) to just go back and get gold on everything? It is kind of like taking a test, then seeing all the right answers, then taking the test again - it does not take much to get 100 at that point. Unless you have no short term memory... Also, I certainly won't argue with you about what is in the tutorial, but I went through it pretty carefully, and I don't remember that. I do remember that you can go in and look at all the coin things, but I don't remember seeing anything about resetting a category... Oh well, my addled brain...

Aw man really I was just about to reset my game and start over Is it against the rules? EDIT: Fine I wont do it I really was going to but it would take too long I already spent hours and hours. Do I get a consolation prize though? Like free letter B lol
