Very nice improvement! I must say this looks more like a game than Finger Cut. Finger Cut honestly looked like some abstract semi-educational app, while this looks like a fun addictive game.

The music in this promo video is way better as well. Also is it possible for you to have the game play utilize the whole video resolution? Also how is the icon on this game?

    Keep up the good work!!:)

Just gotta say, looks really nice. Love the work you did on the particle and special effects. I think nowadays, you really need to up the wow factor. Needs more gratuitous blood! I mean, it's a zombie game! Have the blood run down after it hits the screen.

I don't think the problem here is the idea behind the game (killing zombies, saving humans) but rather, trying to re-implement mechanics in a sub-par way when you pit them up against other games such as Monster Mayhem, for example.

Of course, the manpower, hours and effort required for a game like MM are incomparable but, i'm wondering, why are you still sticking to the slicing mechanic? It's a bit more sensitive than other genres since everything about it has to FEEL just right.

Veggie Samurai is a pure Fruit Ninja clone but, because of its' sub-par graphics, animations and the way slicing just doesn't feel satisfying, it's gone down the drain. On the other hand, a game like Rogue Runner ends up being successful by breaking away from the Canabalt formula and adding mechanics which not only end up being interested, but are well implemented in the game.

Looking at the trailer for your second game, I notice the graphics/visuals are attractive but a) the animations look a bit bleak, b) the slicing doesn't look 'fun' and c) the rewards/gratification for playing the game seem to be missing (power-ups, leaderboards, easter eggs, a star character/zombie slayer perhaps).

Perhaps you can go back to the drawing board and spend a bit more time planning for the next release - it's great what you guys have done for your first two releases and i wish you all the success for your upcoming projects.

What so many almost-famous games need is a producer, or publisher; basically a partner who can add any missing pieces and polish up your game, as well as devote time to marketing.

It's very tough but you have to realize there are so many free flash games that are just like this.

Even $1 games need to be professional quality these days.

Put iads inside, it looks like you have some room at the bottom of the screen, display a permanent ad here in the free version.
Include In App purchase to unlock later levels and get rid of the ads. Might boost your income a bit without too much work.

I tried last night - Zombie Slasher is a big improvement over Paper Cut in every respect. Anyone suggesting it's not polished almost surely hasn't tried it. And who cares if it's similar to some flash games. The iPhone can't play flash games unless they are ported. And there are plenty of Flash type games that have done well in the AppStore.

As for why it's not selling very well, besides your troubles with the new releases category, some thoughts:

    1. it's really gruesome with the blood/splatters. While there are some armchair quarterbacks here that have been encouraging you to make it even bloodier, this is a double edged sword. Bloody games are a turn-off to many people. And there are a ton of Zombie-themed games already out there - Zombie themes may be popular, but it won't make it easy to stand out.

    2. This probably would have done better if released before Halloween.

    3. The screenshots and icon are weak. This is probably the area where is hurting you the most. The icon doesn't stand out from the other Zombie games. And the sample screenshots are dark and crowded. Forget about gameplay for a second (something your game pulls off pretty well), but compare its icons and screenshots to Fruit Ninja or Draw Slasher.

    4. what keywords are you using? It doesn't look like you even have "slash" in the keywords. Searching for "Zombie Slash" doesn't even show up your game. You have to type "Zombie Slasher"
