Ok so I got on. And when I got to the character looks custimizatiom as soon as I tried to switch skin color my skin went black. And not like the skin color black. Just black like the texture or color or whatever you called it wasn't loading. And I was unable to go back to my original color either. But eyes worked fine. The hair models have partial places where the color doesn't show up either and it's just black. Once I logged on. My skin color showed but the hair still had the black parts on it. I would also recommend when it comes time to do the UI you explain exactly how character creation works cause I can already see alot of people getting confused in how to use skill points and what each slider does and all that. Also could you delete my rorance account from the test account? So I can use my name
You own Rorance again, I associated him with your new account. I'm still working on materials and some bugs.
Rorance is actually stuck in a random black abyss I have no idea how I got there. When I logged in he was still in that hole with the lava. And I found a way out but I was still at the level with the rock structure of the dungeon. So I tried to get back in by going over to the wall and turning. But when I did I got sucked into the wall and their is nothing around me. I'm lost. I seem to be pretty good at finding my way to unknown areas will we be able to change our characters looks after we create them? I think I liked rorance when he was black and blue striped. Cause now he looks like a pasty old man with gray hair and a gauge in his head where he must have gotten hit by a sword because the hair isn't showin up there. Edit: also I just logged in as my new guy I created and he shows up as the same pasty white old guy? But I didn't make him to be that way. And the first time he showed up differently.
I'm working on material issues, don't pay any attention to those right now. FYI, I needed to reset everyone to some default settings as the options have changed. Reset your position to the forest. Please don't try going through the walls until I ask you to test collisions for me
So, this is going to be on multiple platforms. Does that mean that 4 people, one with a mac, one with an iphone, one with a pc, and one in a browser will all be able to play together?
Yes, that's right. Though the browser version is by definition cross-platform, I think we will have standalone Mac/Pc/Linux versions if they are desired.
Hey Baitntackle, I put some rocks up to block off the final boss area. The dungeon will have a progression where you have to kill minibosses to get keys to the next areas, and finally to the main boss in that watery room. Since it will be a while til I get everything in place, I blocked it off so the boss room would be a surprise once it's ready for release. Thanks for ruining it, man. just kidding. There is a way across the watery pit, but yeah, I'll need to add a way to get out of there. Maybe Dave will put in swimming... I'm back from vacation and being sick too, so more Lore will be coming to the site.
Sorry about that I just had to know once I saw their was more. I like the idea of killing a bunch of mini bosses before you get to the final one.
Hehe that's kinda of the fun at playing around so early though, isn't it lol. FYI, in about 5 minutes your player shouldn't be naked anymore! The weird looking material happened when something called a .dds version was created from the main texture. Shiva does a fantastic job at compressing things for you, but sometimes you need to specify a higher quality on a texture or it risks losing its detail. I also modified LOD settings so your head/hair should appear to be normal again
These early days are always fun, for me at least. I was in a super early beta of Vanguard, back when there was one generic village with one generic quest giver and a handful of monsters to kill. There was no falling damage, and you could go up any steep slope, so I headed out for parts unknown and got to see a lot of the world before it got populated.

Yes I very much like the clothing you added although now I am curious. Will we be able to change our looks? Cause both my characters changed. Sarade originally had dark brown hair that is now green. And rorances white hair went to red?
