Thanks aaroneas Member Nov 7, 2010 22 0 1 #3 aaroneas, Sep 17, 2014 I use the Mac version regularly, and had the old iPhone only version (which got far less use and is apparently discontinued). I'm glad to grab the new universal option for free. If you don't already have them, I'd recommend grabbing this while free and creating a wish list at appshopper to watch for the periodic 50% sale on the Mac version. I personally suspect it's due to a misunderstanding on their part rather than an Apple bug as they have claimed, as I've never heard of the ability to link a price drop to an update. Either way, it's all academic now. Version 5.0 is available now so anyone who downloads now will get the freemium version. fumbles Well-Known Member Jan 10, 2012 157 0 0 #11 fumbles, Sep 17, 2014 Unless they download it on a device with iOS7 (or earlier) in which case they'll be offered the old version aussiepaul Well-Known Member Aug 18, 2013 130 36 28 #12 aussiepaul, Sep 18, 2014 Onesafe allows auto erase all data after 4 incorrect login so I feel that's much more secure. You can also create a decoy login if you wish. It also syncs with iCloud & Dropbox. It also has an internal browser. aussiepaul Well-Known Member Aug 18, 2013 130 36 28 #13 aussiepaul, Sep 18, 2014 Onesafe allows auto erase all data after 4 incorrect login so I feel that's much more secure. They too have a browser, and I believe a erase after so many wrong entries, but I could be wrong - the browser version does not have that, but I seem to remember the iPhone / iPad versions do. I have been using 1Password for about 5 years and have found it be a great program. Good support from Agile Bits, and active forum there, and fairly good peace of mind. They are adamant about not having backdoors in the software, so if you forget your master password, you are pretty screwed, but that is a good thing as well. Additionally, they allow backups, that are also encrypted using the AES 256 standard, so if your HD craps out, you can be assured all your data did not get lost. I know there are probably excellent competing programs out there, and always good to keep an eye out for a quality program, but Agile Bits has done a great job with updating and supporting 1Password and that is perhaps as important as the program in the world of security. I was able to download it for free prior to the update, so I have the Pro version. It's always a good idea to have some kind of a password archive (Lord knows everyone I know needs one). I use mSecure on Android and it looks like I'll be using 1Password on iOS. Does this mean when I upgrade to ios8 this app will automatically upgrade itself to the pro version of 5.0 ? Or just the regular freemium version until I pay for the pro upgrade ? dancj Well-Known Member Jan 25, 2011 967 4 18 #18 dancj, Sep 18, 2014 If you've run it you'll get the full version. If you haven't then you might - not sure. I have OneSafe and am very happy with it, but 1password does seem like it might be nicer. At the moment though, OneSafe has the big advantage that I have the Mac version. If the Mac version of 1password drops to a reasonable price at some point then I might well switch over. razorracer83 Well-Known Member Apr 14, 2013 199 0 0 New York City, New York, USA #19 razorracer83, Sep 18, 2014 Last edited: Sep 18, 2014 Those who got the 4.5.3 version or prior, whether they payed for it or not, are eligible for the free Pro upgrade.
