Good to get a possible release date (29th). The other two classes sound like great additions. Still an insta buy for me regardless. hoping it will be my favorite rogue-like in the appstore. Will there be a D-Pad control option implemented?
We aren't doing a D-Pad; once you play the game I think you'll see that it would be kind of silly for our game. Also we personally hate virtual D-pads. If there's enough demand for it once people have played the game and understand some of the mechanics - AND if we can figure a way to implement it well, we'll definitely consider it. Otherwise, it works really well just touching, like a mouse.
Virtual dpads do indeed suck. You're trying to emulate a tactile three-dimensional object in software. Why not come up with a control scheme based on what the platform has as opposed to what it doesn't?
Agree 100%. Virtual dpads suck. Devs should try to find new control methods that don't rely on making believe a touchscreen is something it's not. We can touch exactly where we want a character to move or perform an action etc. Good programming should make that work well, and make the touch interface feel natural and not just a bad version of a physical dpad or analog joystick. ALSO - I'm looking forward to 100 Rogues' release! This looks like a really great game, especially after getting into the amazing Sword of Fargoal. These two games seem similar but different enough to want both.
Virtual d-pads only suck if they're done poorly. Just look at Soosiz or Guerrilla Bob; the controls on those games are so good that I forgot I was using virtual controls.
If I thought it would stay at that price, I'd definitely get it. However, I'm guessing it'll drop to $1 in a couple weeks. Unless you plan otherwise...
I would pay 10 bucks if I could have it tonight... The only two games I really want are this and deliverace, and it seems like neither one is ever going to come out...
Soon... Of course that has been the timeframe for over a month. July is looking likely... Scratch that... 1st quarter 2011 is my guess...
Sorry to poop any parties here, but via Dinofarm Games's twitter So maybe the weekend? Not long surely.
"Not long," you say. Clearly, you're not aware of Apple's hilariously slow approval process. This weekend would be excellent though...
Seems like it has been taking over a week lately. I think that Chop Chop Tennis is at around eight days right now.
I thought Apple had learned something resembling haste? Or was that just a brief golden time which has bollixed up since.
