Leveling increases your attack and defense stats as well. My 2 knights have relatively the same equipment, however my black knight is FAR weaker...

You can upgrade weapons however :), but that only gives you the next best weapon.

Yay I beat it! I noticed that he did become easier :). I was down to 1 knight and my healer at the end lol, but managed to take him down.
