While in the world map, or on a save point, scroll down the menu. The last option should be the option to save.

After 1.0.2, the game still slows down upon reaching the 3rd titan of the bloodline. What the hell.
Downloading it right now. I'd be surprised if this somehow recovered my save file. But not inclined to starting over until upgrade notes specify...
